Chapter 290 Our Family

Lillian choked up as she spoke, clenching her fist and wanting to hit Jackson.

However, she quickly remembered that he was injured, and her raised fist stopped in mid-air.

Seeing this, Jackson wrapped her fist with his large hand, pressing it against his chest, and said gently, "Hit here. It's all my fault. Why are you crying again? You're pregnant. You shouldn't cry so much. I already have a wife who cries a lot. If we have a child who also likes crying, we must have a headache."

His tone was exaggeratedly regretful.

Lillian couldn't help but smile a little, feeling both embarrassed and angry. She retorted, "I'm not a wife who cries a lot! Taylor is very well-behaved. She's definitely going to be a sunny, cute, and warm-hearted baby, not a crybaby!"

Jackson nodded, pulling Lillian into his arms and stroking her long hair. "Alright. Neither of you are crybabies. When Taylor is born, you two can team up against me, and I'll be the one who cries the most in our family."

Jackson's large hand threaded through Lillian's hair, his warm fingertips gently massaging her head. His voice was low and soothing.

Lillian's ear pressed against Jackson's chest, and she could hear his heartbeat.

It was steady and deep with a calming effect.

He had said the words of "when Taylor was born" and "our family."

She thought he was really gentle.

Lillian felt that such simple words were like a warm stream flowing into her parched heart, soothing her fears and making her heart race.

She raised her head in a daze, gazed at Jackson, and asked, "Jackson, are you looking forward to Taylor's arrival?"

She didn't dare blink, her nose red, her face moist with anxiety due to her tears.

Jackson sighed helplessly, rubbing her nose with his finger. His forehead rested against hers as he commented, "What kind of silly question is that? Isn't Taylor my child?"

"Of course she's yours!" Lillian was both embarrassed and angry.

Jackson raised an eyebrow slightly and said, "If she's mine, how could I not look forward to my child's birth? You have really turned into a fool."

Hearing his words, Lillian still felt like she was floating on a cloud, a sense of unreality.

She pushed Jackson away, stared at him with wide eyes, and questioned, "But you were so cautious about contraception before. You didn't even want me to get pregnant. And do you remember what you said that time? I didn't want to take birth control pills, and you said if I got pregnant, we would abort it. Not only did I hear it, but Taylor heard it too!"

Lillian's heart was once again filled with pain. His words had hurt her deeply, like a shadow that always loomed over her.

Jackson raised his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. He bent down and lifted Lillian onto the hospital bed.

Lillian asked worriedly, "What are you doing? Aren't you injured? Be careful with your wound."

Jackson's movements did indeed strain his wound, causing cold sweat to break out on his forehead and his brows to furrow.

Lillian was startled. She quickly spread her legs, straddled Jackson's lap, and reached to lift his hospital gown, saying, "Let me see! Don't move around."

As she lifted the gown, revealing thick white bandages, Jackson grabbed her wrist before she could see clearly.

Lillian looked up, meeting Jackson's eyes. He said helplessly, "You fool. I want our baby. There was a reason I said that before. I didn't know you were already pregnant with our child. If I had known, I wouldn't have said such hurtful things."
