Chapter 523 Divorce

Jackson stood outside the State Court lobby, dressed in a gray suit that accentuated his perfect physique. His handsome and noble appearance drew attention, showing no signs of being unwell.

He held a cigarette between his fingers, only half remaining. Blue-white smoke exhaled from his thin lips, obscuring his expression, but his profile appeared somber and melancholic.

Sensing her arrival, Jackson turned his head to look.

Their eyes met, and he extinguished the cigarette, tossing it into the trash can.

Lillian had already stepped forward, and Jackson frowned slightly and said, "I didn't sleep well last night, feeling a bit tired. I couldn't resist having a smoke to perk up. I hope you don't mind."

He stepped aside and waved his hand to disperse the lingering faint smell of smoke.

Perhaps because they were about to register for divorce, Lillian showed him a bit more tolerance and patience. She nodded and said, "It's fine, let's go."

She entered, and Jackson trailed after, captivated by her graceful form.

Their striking appearances and unattainable elegance made them highly captivating. Moreover, Lillian was visibly pregnant, causing people to turn their heads as they passed by.

Lillian overheard a young couple whispering. The woman said, "They must be here to get married. Look at that woman, forcing the man to marry her with a child. Even if he doesn't want to, he has to. Look at his gloomy and unhappy expression."

The man said, "This atmosphere screams divorce. Don't be fooled by that man's handsome appearance; he looks like a jerk. He probably cheated on his wife while she was pregnant! I bet that's what happened!"

Lillian, of course, ignored these strangers' gossip and didn't even turn her head.

However, she failed to notice Jackson's piercing gaze, hidden behind her, which communicated immense pressure.

The girl turned pale with fright, shut her mouth, and lowered her head, cursing inwardly.

She spoke up for the man, and he still glared at her?

Jackson's imposing presence made the surrounding gazes quietly withdraw.

The divorce agreement had been signed, and they refused mediation, so the divorce registration was processed quickly.

In less than ten minutes, they walked out of the State Court.

Lillian felt much lighter. She turned back, smiled at Jackson, and said, "Mr. Frane, goodbye. I'll contact you next month when we get the certificate."

Her implication was clear: please don't bother her before they get the certificate.

How could Jackson not understand her hint?

Jackson stared at Lillian in front of him. Her smile, radiant in the sunlight, was as lovely as a wild rose kissed by dew and sun.

She finally achieved her wish to end the relationship with him.

Jackson's heart tightened, his hands clenched into fists, veins bulging on the back of his hands.

He had lost her, after all. The person he thought would never let go had drifted away.

His throat was dry, and he didn't respond for a long time. After swallowing the bitterness, he suddenly said, "Let's go to the Price family together and deal with the assassination matter."

Lillian was stunned for a moment, then thought it over and didn't refuse.

Those people had acted in Country N. Since Country N and Amerika had an extradition treaty, the Country N authorities needed to follow procedures to repatriate the intruders and assassins.

Jackson leveraged his connections to speed up the process, while Lillian believed the culprits should be returned to Miracalia.

As a victim, she also wanted to know how it would be resolved, so she followed Jackson into the car.

When they arrived at the Price family, Dominic's car was just pulling into the courtyard.

Dominic saw Jackson and Lillian getting out of the car together and approached with a puzzled frown.

"Jackson, what's going on? You asked me to come back immediately."

Before he could finish, another car arrived. The door opened, and Harry, with two bodyguards in black, dragged a person out.

It was a man, head hanging low so his face was hidden, but he was covered in blood and looked terrifying.

Dominic's face changed. "Jackson, Susan's health is poor, and she can't handle any shocks. Star is also timid. What are you doing? Don't scare them."
