Chapter 669
Jackson watched Lillian disappear down the hallway, standing there for a moment before heading back to the hospital room.
Inside, Ambrose hadn't left with the Kelly Family. He stayed behind to wrap things up.
Barry's glasses were shattered, and one side of his face was bruised and swollen, with blood at the corner of his mouth. He was tied to a chair by Harry.
Seeing Jackson enter, Barry curled his lips into a mocking smile.
"He's got a tough mouth and didn't say anything," Harry reported to Jackson.
Barry didn't look too badly injured, but Harry had gagged him and hit him several times, causing internal injuries for sure. Yet, despite this, Barry hadn't made a sound.
Jackson walked up to Barry, his eyes cold. "What kind of psychological suggestion did you have Rafaela give Lillian? What are you planning to do with her once you trick her into going abroad?"
Barry sneered at Jackson, his smile full of disdain and mockery. "Now you care about her? If you hadn't ruined her five years ago, Lillian would have agreed to go abroad and accepted the Hall Family's proposal! But you destroyed her and didn't treat her well. For five years, you let her suffer from rumors and torment!"
He continued, "I just made her hate you completely and wanted to take her away from this place to start anew abroad. Compared to what you've done to her, this is nothing. Jackson, what right do you have to stand here and condemn me? You don't deserve it!"
Jackson's eyes grew colder. "So you knew all about the Hall Family's proposal five years ago."
From Barry's words, it was clear that he was still bitter about the Hall Family's proposal five years ago.
Barry raised an eyebrow. "So what if I did? She was never happy in the Frane Family. She saved a stray cat and wanted to keep it, but she couldn't bring it home because your mother didn't like it. What's so good about living under someone else's roof? If Lillian came to me, I would cherish her and never let her suffer such grievances!"
Jackson stared coldly at Barry. "Five years ago, you wanted to take Lillian abroad but failed. After your leg healed, you returned to be Max's attending physician, just to stay close to Lillian. All these years, you've never stopped persuading Lillian to go abroad. Even her application to study abroad under Master Alice was orchestrated by you."
Barry nodded. "That's right. Lillian loves dancing, and she's so talented. The artistic atmosphere, dance resources, and prospects abroad are far better than here. I'm doing this for her own good. Should I just watch her wither away in the Frane Mansion?"
Ambrose, who had been silent, couldn't listen any longer and scoffed, "No matter how righteous you sound, you're just deceiving yourself to justify your selfishness and darkness."
Barry's expression stiffened, and he gripped the armrest tightly.
Jackson's eyes were icy. "Lillian refused, so you hypnotized her, even resorting to mental control. Once you take her abroad, how could you let her live freely? You'd only use more despicable and ruthless means to control her, making her your puppet!"
The veins on Barry's hand bulged, and his eyes were dark. "Yes, I have indeed prepared everything abroad. Once I take Lillian away from Miracalia, no one will ever find her again. We'll have a long time alone together. I will treat her gently and make her fall in love with me. We'll be very happy!"
Jackson had ruined everything time and time again! Barry glared at him with pure hatred.
Jackson sneered, "After all these years, you've always pretended to be gentle and considerate. Has Lillian ever been moved? She could never love someone as twisted and dark as you! Your feelings for her are just control and possessiveness, not love!"
Barry's face froze for a moment, then he laughed mockingly. "Don't you find it especially ridiculous for you to say that? Don't forget how Lillian's postpartum depression came about."
Jackson's face paled slightly, and a storm brewed in his deep eyes. He quickly suppressed his regret, stepped forward, and pressed Barry's right hand against the armrest.
The next second, Jackson picked up a glass vase from the nearby table and coldly said, "As a neurosurgeon, what would happen if this hand were destroyed?"
Barry's expression changed dramatically. "We're in a hospital!"
Jackson sneered. "When you were controlling Lillian here, did you think about it being a hospital?"
Harry nodded and immediately chimed in, "Mr. Frane, don't worry about ruining his hand. I can testify that he fell and broke the glass vase, injuring his hand. Mr. Kelly saw it too, right?"
Harry looked at Ambrose, who raised an eyebrow. "The police aren't that stupid, but you could take the blame for Jackson."
Harry thought to himself that Ambrose was really ruthless, but he still nodded cooperatively and said resolutely, "I can!"
Jackson's eyes were fierce. "Barry, if you want to keep your hand, tell me who that woman in the parking lot was."
Barry had no doubt that Jackson would really destroy his hand. His right hand, which was being held down, trembled and curled, but he gritted his teeth and said coldly, "I told you, she was a girlfriend I brought to appease my family. Jackson, what are you suspecting?"
A girlfriend to appease his family would be hidden so well? Would suddenly disappear?
Jackson had Harry check all the surveillance footage around the hospital parking lot, but they couldn't capture the woman's face.
That woman had disappeared, and her disappearance must be related to Lillian.
Jackson's eyes were dark and unreadable. "Half a year ago, you almost took Lillian abroad. Because I found out she was pregnant, I brought her back from the airport. You missed that opportunity and must have been resentful. You knew that as long as she had the child, Lillian wouldn't leave easily. So, was Taylor's death related to you?"
This was what Jackson really wanted to force Barry to confess.
At that time, Lillian was quickly sent to the hospital, and although it was a difficult birth, the rescue was timely.
Bob kidnapped Lillian for money, and Daisy used Bob for Taylor's cord blood. Neither of them had a motive to harm Taylor. On the contrary, they didn't want anything to happen to Taylor, so why did the child end up dead?
But Barry had the motive and the ability. Because he had been at Frane Hospital for years, he was very familiar with the hospital.
Jackson even remembered that when he accompanied Lillian for a prenatal checkup, he ran into Barry in the obstetrics department.
