Chapter 306 As Much as She Loved Him
Jackson thought she was in a hurry to contact Shirley, so he leaned over and took her phone out of the bedside table.
After Lillian turned on the phone, she excitedly opened a recording file and urged Jackson, "Lie down, quickly."
Jackson didn't know what she wanted to do. He raised an eyebrow and obediently lay down on the bed.
Lillian continued, "Close your eyes. I want you to listen to something."
Jackson obediently closed his eyes with a slight smile.
Lillian then lay down beside him, pulling Jackson's large hand and placing it on her belly.
Then she played the encrypted audio file and closed her eyes as well.
The sound of a little train starting up immediately echoed in their ears. Lillian, covering Jackson's hand, smiled and said, "Honey, do you hear that? It's Taylor's heartbeat."
Last time, Amelia accompanied Lillian for a prenatal checkup, and Amelia helped her record this heartbeat audio.
Lillian had always kept it on her phone, playing it from time to time.
She was now eager to share it with Jackson, to tell him that Taylor was very healthy and would soon come into this world to meet them.
Listening to the sound, Jackson didn't initially understand what it was.
When Lillian said it was Taylor's heartbeat, Jackson's large hand on her belly trembled slightly.
He was a bit at a loss and also afraid of pressing on her belly.
A magical feeling hit him, making his heart race. His Adam's apple bobbed, and he was unable to speak for a long time.
He said to Taylor in his mind, 'You're a considerate child. Without you, Daddy might have lost your mom.'
"Jackson? Jackson, don't you have anything to say?" Lillian hadn't heard Jackson say anything for a while, so she opened her eyes.
The audio had finished playing, but Jackson was still lying there motionless, his face incredibly calm.
Lillian wondered if he had fallen asleep and angrily pushed Jackson.
Jackson then opened his eyes and teased, "Is she driving a train in your belly?"
Lillian fell silent.
She thought, 'The first time I heard Taylor's heartbeat, I was moved to tears. How could Jackson have this reaction?'
She huffed, "Don't you have anything else to say?"
Jackson smirked, leaned closer to Lillian, and said, "You just called me honey. Come on, say it again."
Lillian was stunned for a moment, and her cheeks blushed.
She thought, 'Why is his focus always so strange?'
She glared at Jackson, stubbornly saying, "Did I? You misheard."
Just now, they were snuggling together, listening to Taylor's heartbeat.
Their hands were together, caressing Taylor, and that feeling was both happy and satisfying.
In the heat of the moment, she had unconsciously called out.
Now, being stared at by Jackson, Lillian was too embarrassed to call him honey again.
However, Jackson wouldn't let her go. His breath pressed closer as he said, "If you don't say it, I'll kiss you."
Lillian's face was flushed, a sly glint flashing in her bright eyes. She slightly raised her head and brought her red lips to his first.
Jackson was stunned, then his breath became slightly erratic, and he deepened the kiss.
The warm winter sunlight seeped in from the winder, enveloped the kissing couple.
Lillian, with her eyes closed, had never felt so close to Jackson as at that moment.
She felt their hearts were also close. She thought it didn't matter if Jackson didn't love her now. Soon, he would love her as much as she loved him.
Even if it was just a little less, it didn't matter.
