Chapter 259 Jackson Coaxed Lillian

Lillian sadly realized that even if she masked her calm and indifferent exterior, she still became excited after hearing Jackson speak such words. She fantasized that perhaps Jackson did not completely lack love for her. But she quickly bit her lip and came to her senses.

She bitterly thought that this was merely Jackson's possessiveness at play. Even though she was his ex-wife, a woman he no longer wanted, he still didn't want anyone else to interfere.

He had always been such an overbearing person, and his wealth only fueled this dominance. In truth, his words had nothing to do with love. If she took them seriously, she would be truly laughable.

However, Jackson's attitude made Lillian worry about whether she could successfully leave the country the next day.

In the room, Lyra was speechless for a moment, then burst into laughter. The ever-elegant Lyra almost cursed, "Nonsense! You're getting a divorce. Do you still want to ruin Lillian's future and waste her life? Are you even human? Get out. Leave here immediately!"

Lyra picked up a cane and chased after Jackson. The commotion moved towards the door, and Lillian instinctively pushed it open. Unexpectedly, Lyra's cane swung in that direction. Jackson dodged, and the cane came straight down towards Lillian's face.

Lillian closed her eyes in fright, but the expected pain did not come. Her petite body was enveloped in Jackson's familiar and warm embrace as if she were being tightly protected.

The dull thud of the cane landing was heard, and Jackson's thin lips were buried in Lillian's neck, letting out a low groan. The warm, soft sound intertwined in her ear, causing a tingling sensation.

Lillian's ears immediately turned red.

"Are you okay?" Lillian hurriedly pushed Jackson away to check on him. She didn't know where Lyra's blow had landed on him and was worried it had hit his head.

Indeed, Jackson was holding the back of his head, and his expression was slightly painful.

The coffee Lillian was holding had spilled mostly onto Jackson's chest, staining his white shirt and still steaming.

Lyra saw this and felt distressed. She threw away the cane, waved her hand, and said, "Lillian, take him out and clean him up. He's already not very sensible. Don't let him become a fool."

Lillian quickly nodded and said, "Grandma, you rest for a while. Don't worry. I'll come back to talk with you later."

She pulled Jackson out, and not far away was their bedroom. It was a room Lyra had specifically reserved for them at the Frane Mansion.

Lillian helped Jackson into the bedroom, let him sit on the sofa, and anxiously checked the injury on his head.

"Don't cover it. It'll swell more easily. Is it bleeding?" Lillian urged.

She pulled Jackson's hand away from the back of his head, anxiously running her fingers through his thick and smooth hair, the kind many girls envied. It was difficult to find the wound.

After a long search, Lillian still couldn't find it. She anxiously asked, "How do you feel now? Where is it? I can't find it."

Jackson held his forehead, leaned back on the sofa, and replied, "I feel dizzy and nauseous."

As he spoke, his body swayed, and his handsome face pressed against Lillian's abdomen, his hand wrapping around her waist. The soft touch of Jackson's face on her abdomen created an indescribable intimacy, the closest he had ever been to the baby.

Lillian's body suddenly stiffened as if under a spell. She was unable to speak, and her breathing became lightened. She asked, "Do you have a concussion?"

"That's possible. Why don't you help me to the bed and lie with me for a while?" Jackson's forehead rubbed against Lillian's abdomen, his voice low and soft.

Lillian suspected he was being coquettish because he looked exactly like Jeffrey when he clung to her and insisted on staying the night.
