Chapter 124 Waiting for You
He paused with the contract in his hand, then withdrew it after a moment, smiling warmly as usual.
"Okay. If you can't find a suitable one, there's no rush to move out."
"Got it. Thank you." Lillian thanked him again.
The car had stopped by now, and as Lillian opened the door to get out, Barry hadn't unlocked the car.
Lillian looked at him, and Barry bent down to grab a pair of shoes from under the driver's seat and handed them to her.
"I just put them in a few days ago, haven't worn them yet."
It was a pair of surgical clogs, and Lillian instinctively curled her dirty toes.
Barry added, "No need to return them, just leave them in the rental."
Lillian couldn't refuse anymore, especially since the ground outside had been wet from the rain.
"Go back quickly." she took the shoes, got out of the car, and ran into the building.
Lillian knocked on the door, and Shirley looked surprised.
"How did you end up like this? Where's Jackson?"
Shirley hurriedly pulled her inside and poured her some hot water.
After drinking it, Lillian sneezed and was pushed into the bathroom by Shirley.
When she came out of the hot shower and sat on the sofa, she briefly explained everything that had just happened, including rejecting Barry.
"Shirley, I'm sorry. We have to find a new place to live again."
"What are you talking about? But Barry is nice, why don't you consider it?"
Lillian shook her head, "It's not suitable."
Not to mention she was pregnant now and had no plans for a second marriage.
Even if she wasn't pregnant, the wounds in her heart needed time to heal. She couldn't respond to anyone, so she couldn't waste others' time.
"Alright, you have an interview with Alice soon and focus on practicing dancing. Don't worry about finding a place to live," Shirley advised.
Lillian felt warm in her heart. She leaned over to hug Shirley, but Shirley made a sound of pain.
"Are you hurt? Did Jackson's people do this to you?"
She tried to pull Shirley's clothes off, but Shirley dodged. "It's nothing, just a twist."
Lillian forcibly held her down and saw a bruise on her back near the shoulder blade.
She silently went to get the first aid kit.
Her aura was intimidating, Shirley didn't dare to speak, quietly letting her apply the medicine.
After Lillian pulled her clothes back, Shirley smiled and shrugged.
"It feels comfortable," Shirley said.
Lillian glared at her, and Shirley leaned on her, acting cute.
"It doesn't hurt. I was the one who started it, and I usually get bruises from the stunts on set. It's nothing," Shirley said.
Looking at her smiling face, Lillian felt a tinge of sadness.
"It's different," Lillian said.
"Alright, let's talk about something happy. Do you know all of Nathan's fans are smart? They went to Wendy's Twitter comments and started arguing with her. They said her tweets were full of negativity, and with her small number of fans, she's no match. Now, netizens are asking her for screenshots of donations to charity," Shirley said. She showed her phone to Lillian.
Indeed, Wendy was losing followers rapidly, and Lillian's followers were approaching six million.
[My idol has a discerning eye! The songs of his idol are great, and the dancing is amazing!]
[I've been a fan of Light for over a year, and a fan of Wendy for nine months.]
Lillian smiled and followed Nathan's Twitter account. Shirley eagerly grabbed the phone to check Wendy's Twitter comments.
Wendy's comments section was full of hostility, just like Lillian's comments section earlier that night.
"Wendy has lost fifty to sixty thousand followers, she must be in a panic now! Serves her right!" Shirley happily said.
[Even if she's a rich beauty and shows off her love every day, what's the point? If she's capable, she should show how much she's donated and how much charity work she's done.]
[Why is she hiding now? Could it be that she hasn't donated a penny all year, without social contribution at all?]
The situation had completely reversed, and after a brief look, Lillian urged Shirley to go to bed.
"Stop looking. Have you been online all day? You have dark circles under your eyes!"
"Really? It's all Wendy's fault!" Shirley exclaimed and ran into the bedroom.
Lillian shook her head with a smile, returned to her room, and made a phone call.
After hanging up, she opened her phone, unblocked Jackson's number, and sent him a message.
Lillian: [Tomorrow at nine o'clock, downstairs at the Star Group coffee shop, I'll be waiting for you.]
