Chapter 774
"Shirley went on a blind date, and in no time, you got her drunk and brought her here. You say you didn't do anything to her, and she beat you up and then jumped out of the window herself? Do you think that makes any sense?"
Lillian squinted her eyes, scrutinizing Gray.
She definitely didn't believe Gray.
Gray, however, was furious, pointing at the swelling on his forehead, "I have evidence of being hit on my head, and on my body too!"
As he spoke, Gray suddenly stood up and yanked open his shirt.
Just now in the room, Shirley had kicked him hard in the chest, causing him to roll off the bed and hit his head.
"Who are you stripping for!"
However, as soon as Gray's shirt was pulled open, he was hit by a throw pillow.
A gust of wind passed by, and it was Jackson, who was standing nearby, who quickly moved past him, covering Lillian's eyes and pulling her into his arms.
"Sweetie, don't look." Lillian's vision went dark, and before she could react, Jackson had pulled her into his embrace.
The familiar scent, unique to Jackson, filled her nostrils. He had jumped into the pool to save someone earlier and had been waiting for the doctor to arrive.
He hadn't had time to change, and his clothes were still damp.
Through the wet clothes, Lillian could clearly feel the warmth of Jackson's chest, and her breath hitched.
"I didn't look." Lillian murmured.
Jackson stroked Lillian's long hair, his eyes smiling, and whispered in her ear. "Good girl."
Gray had stood up in a hurry, and before he could steady himself after pulling open his robe, Jackson bumped into him.
Gray stumbled back onto the sofa, wincing in pain as his bruised chest was jostled.
He glared at them in anger, only to see their intimate posture.
In an instant, Gray felt utterly devastated.
Especially when he compared his current embarrassment to Jackson's current affectionate and smug demeanor, he wanted to kick both of them out of his villa.
But he didn't dare.
Under Jackson's warning and displeased gaze, Gray held back his tears, closed his robe, tied the belt tightly, and even buttoned up his collar.
But he was full of anger and couldn't help but voice it, "Jackson, can you two consider my feelings and act like decent people?"
Hearing this, Lillian pushed Jackson, and Jackson finally let her go.
He sat down on the sofa with her in his arms and said, "Gray probably isn't lying. He does have a fresh bruise on his chest."
Gray felt somewhat comforted, as Jackson still believed him and spoke up for him.
"Did you hear that! I was wronged, you should apologize to me right now!" Gray immediately glared at Lillian with clenched fists.
In his entire life, Gray had never been slapped by a woman. If Jackson weren't here, he would have...
Gray was still fuming internally when he was kicked in the leg.
"Who are you asking to apologize?"
It was Jackson, who had taken a step forward and kicked Gray.
Gray's momentary comfort shattered into pieces, and he looked at Jackson.
"Jackson, I really didn't do anything to Shirley, but this big slap mark on my face was caused by Lillian. Shouldn't she apologize to me?"
Lillian looked at Gray and snorted. "I'm not apologizing."
Regardless of whether Gray did anything to Shirley, Lillian had long wanted to slap him for his past attitude towards her.
After Lillian finished speaking, Jackson nodded. "No apology."
"Jackson!" Gray was incredulous.
Jackson raised an eyebrow. "She didn't apologize when she hit me, so why should she apologize for hitting you? Do you think you're more precious than me?"
Lillian and Gray fell silent.
Was that something a normal person would say?
Gray was speechless, unable to say anything for a long time, his eyes expressing his strong shock and disdain.
Jackson squinted his eyes and said in a deep voice. "Yesterday, when I had dinner with your dad, he mentioned that the Flores Group has been a bit unstable lately, with a lot of restless people. Your older brother is probably overworked. Should I give your dad a call and suggest that you go home and help out?"
Gray was happily acting in movies and being a star.
He had no interest in the family business, especially since his older brother, Zaid Flores, was his half-brother.
Gray had great respect for Zaid and didn't want to compete with him.
If Gray were to join the Flores Group, he might get caught up in internal conflicts and create a rift with Zaid.
This was the last thing Gray wanted. He had been passionate about the entertainment industry for this reason.
Jackson had significant influence with the older generation.
If Jackson suggested it, his dad would probably drag him to the group overnight.
So, hearing Jackson mention this, Gray immediately straightened up, clasped his hands together, and said, "Jackson, I was wrong."
"Who should you apologize to?" Jackson raised an eyebrow.
Gray quickly looked at Lillian, forced a smile, and said, "Lillian, I said something unpleasant earlier. You know me, I have a sharp tongue. How about you hit me again to make it symmetrical?"
Gray was flexible, offering the other side of his face to Lillian.
Lillian looked at him, a bit amused, and raised her hand as if to hit him.
Gray's face changed in fear, and he shrank back.
Lillian withdrew her hand, "You're quite the actor."
Gray chuckled awkwardly, "Jackson is still wet. Since Shirley is fine, you should take Jackson to wash up and change clothes."
Gray gave Jackson a pleading look.
He really didn't want to be questioned by Lillian any longer. How had he not noticed before that Lillian was so relentless and difficult to deal with?
Jackson saw Gray's swollen forehead and poor complexion and ultimately decided to help him.
He turned his head, timely covering his nose and sneezing.
Lillian immediately looked at him, "Are you okay? Come on, let's get you a hot shower."
She stood up and pulled Jackson towards the stairs.
After all, he had jumped into the pool to help her earlier.
Jackson let Lillian lead him, watching her worried expression, his lips curling up uncontrollably.
He felt happy again.
"The guest room is right across from Shirley's on the second floor, feel free to use it." Gray watched their backs, sighed in relief, and didn't forget to remind them.
He prided himself on being a loyal friend, even though Jackson was so focused on his love life.
He still created opportunities for Jackson to get close to Lilian whenever he could. Wasn't that commendable?
Lillian pulled Jackson up the stairs, but stopped when she heard Gray's voice, warning him. "Don't bother Shirley until she sobers up!"
What if Shirley got agitated again and jumped out of the window?
Gray just wanted to sneer. He wouldn't go even if he were asked to.
That crazy woman Shirley! Once she sobered up, he'd settle the score with her!
