Chapter 518 Conflict

Jackson's body stiffened, and he turned his deep gaze towards Lillian.

"So impatient?" His voice was low, tinged with a bit of self-mockery.

Lillian nodded and said, "You promised me."

She feared Jackson might retract his promise, especially after the Price family's emotional display.

Jackson's thin lips pressed together slightly. He raised his hand to glance at his watch and said, "Today might be too late. We still need the lawyer to draft a new divorce agreement. Long-distance flights are too much for your body to handle. Go back and rest first."

As he spoke, he instructed Harry, "Head back to the Frane House."

Harry, naturally following Jackson's orders, immediately started the car.

Lillian, however, was furious. Ignoring that they were in the car, she leaned over and sat on Jackson's lap, grabbing his collar fiercely and glaring at him angrily.

"Jackson, you're lying to me again, aren't you? You said you'd agree to my condition, but it was just a trick to get me back!"

She was very forceful, leaving red marks on Jackson's neck, but he remained motionless, letting her vent her anger.

He leaned back in his seat, feeling bitter inside.

He suspected that if he didn't handle this divorce properly, she might really kill him.

Jackson smiled bitterly, raising his hand to rub Lillian's hair, and said with difficulty, "We have Taylor now. Since we need to clarify custody and draft a new divorce agreement, the old one is no longer valid. The lawyer needs time to prepare."

Lillian frowned and asked, "How long will that take?"

"I'll instruct the lawyer to handle it now. We can have the divorce agreement ready for you to review by this evening, and we can go to State Court tomorrow morning."

Seeing his serious expression, without any sign of deceit, Lillian calmed down.

"Can you let go now? I can't breathe."

Only then did Jackson lower his gaze in acknowledgment.

Lillian had been pulling at his collar and tie, and Jackson's handsome face had turned red from lack of oxygen.

Lillian let go of him and cursed, "You deserve it!"

Jackson untied his tie and unbuttoned two shirt buttons, turning to cough.

Seeing this, Lillian felt a bit guilty.

She wanted to quickly get off Jackson's lap, but the next second, Jackson wrapped his arm around her waist.

Just as Lillian was about to get up, she fell back onto Jackson's lap.

It was then that Lillian realized how ambiguous this position was.

Her body suddenly tensed up, and she hurriedly said, "Let go."

Jackson, however, leisurely looked at her embarrassed expression.

"You climbed up here yourself. It's not that easy to get down."

Lillian gritted her teeth and struggled, but Jackson's large hand held her waist tightly.

Even Harry sensibly raised the partition.

Lillian was thoroughly embarrassed and nervous, shouting,  "Jackson!"

Jackson gently smiled, thinking she appeared better now than when she coldly addressed him formally.

He nodded and said, "Don't move. My leg's gone numb from you sitting on it."

"Then let me get up."

"Let me rest a bit."

Lillian's face gradually lost its embarrassment and anger, turning cold as she looked at Jackson coolly.

"Is this fun for you?"

The expression on Jackson's handsome face gradually froze, as if she had dug into his chest and stuffed in a block of ice.

He slowly withdrew his hand from her waist.

Lillian quickly got up and moved away from Jackson.

She looked out the window, not turning back.

Jackson, however, stared at Lillian's profile, his expression gloomy.

He remembered that when they first got married, Lillian was very proactive and passionate for a year.

She would send him countless Facebook messages every day, regardless of whether he replied or not.

She was always delighted to see him, sharing endless trivial matters.

Upon his return to the Peace Mansion, she always cooked delicious meals, saw to his needs, and greeted him in alluring attire, blushing yet daring.

At that time, he thought she did all those things to stay in the Frane family and that her true desire was Kevin, while he was also deeply engrossed in his search for Star; that was why he treated her so coldly, but only now did he truly understand what it felt like to be on the receiving end of such coldness.
