Chapter 762

Star thought about it and threw the phone away.

The phone hit the ground and shattered into pieces.

Bianca gasped in shock and frowned. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Star looked over, her eyes red. "Bianca, the Star Group's annual project has been signed over to The Kelly Media. This is all Lillian's doing! What should I do? She came back to continue messing with Jackson. Jackson already feels guilty about the child, and now Lillian is using work to get close to him. I should just give up."

Star lowered her head, tears falling.

Bianca saw her looking so lost and pathetic, and a flash of disdain crossed her eyes.

She stepped forward, holding Star's hand, and said, "How can you give up so easily? If you give up, then Lillian, that little bitch, will be the one who wins. And Shirley, that arrogant gold digger, will trample all over us. Are you willing to let that happen?"

Star bit her lip. "Of course I'm not willing, but Jackson is being swayed by Lillian and is becoming more distant from me. Has he forgotten our childhood feelings? After all, men are like that. Lillian is younger and prettier than me. She can dance and satisfy a man in bed, while I... I'm incomplete."

Star was despondent, but the more she was like this, the more Bianca was frustrated with her.

"Your injured hand is your greatest weapon. You got it saving Jackson! And Mr. Frane isn't that heartless. Otherwise, why would he keep working with the Price Group?"

Star's eyes brightened slightly. "Really?"

But she quickly became despondent again. "But how could Lillian have such power to get Ronnie suspended? It must be Jackson who heard about yesterday and took the contract from HorizonHive Media to give it to Lillian to vent his anger. Jackson must be thinking about remarrying her. What if he doesn't want to marry me?"

Bianca was also angry hearing this.

If the Star Group's annual event could collaborate with HorizonHive Media, it would greatly help restore HorizonHive Media's reputation and situation. She could quickly return to work there.

It was all because of Lillian!

She had never been so humiliated in her life, and it was all because of Lillian and Shirley, those two bitches with no family background.

Bianca swore she would not rest until she avenged this.

"If Mr. Frane won't agree, then make him have no choice but to marry you! Don't worry, I'll handle it!"

Lillian might be good in bed, young, and pretty, but that can all be destroyed.

And let public opinion force Jackson to make a choice.

Star leaned on Bianca, slightly curling her lips, and sobbed.

"Bianca, thank you. I'm so useless. Without your support and comfort, I can't imagine what I'd do. I'll listen to you. We'll always be good friends, like sisters!"

Star Group, Lillian didn't expect everything to go so smoothly when she got into the car with the new contract.

She had always thought Ronnie was too opportunistic, disregarding rules, and only thinking about currying favor with the powerful.

Such a person must have questionable conduct.

So she had someone investigate him thoroughly, and they did find a lot of issues.

Knowing Ronnie was going to HorizonHive Media to deliver the contract, Lillian had the findings compiled and sent in a report.

Now Ronnie was suspended and under investigation, and she had helped Star Group get rid of a parasite.

Jackson should thank her.

Sometimes, people appear just when you think of them. Lillian had just thought of Jackson when her phone beeped.

She saw it was a message from Jackson.

She opened it and found a selfie from Jackson.

Lillian instinctively clicked on the photo. In the back seat of a car, sunlight streamed through the window. Jackson wasn't wearing a tie, his shirt slightly open, revealing a clear collarbone.

A ray of sunlight, with shadows, swept across Jackson's sharp Adam's apple, resting in the hollow of his neck.

Jackson's handsome face looked relaxed and content, his long eyebrows stretched out, his profile leaning against a big, fluffy white teddy bear.

Jackson's deep eyes stared at the screen, influenced by the bear's dumb, black eyes, showing a rare hint of softness.

He quickly sent a text message: [Reminder to Ms. Kelly, you left me and the bear behind.]

He even added a sad emoji.

Lillian couldn't help but smile and looked at the photo again.

She typed back: [Mr. Frane, a thirty-year-old man shouldn't act cute.]

Jackson replied quickly, as if he had been waiting by his phone.

Jackson: [I'm not acting cute!]

Lillian raised an eyebrow, about to reply, when he added: [I'm just being affectionate.]

Lillian was speechless.

If she hadn't personally unblocked him on Facebook, she would have doubted that it was really Jackson.

Suppressing her smile, she replied: [Thirty-year-old men shouldn't be affectionate either!]

Jackson: [I'm not thirty yet, and Grandma taught me...]

He stopped mid-sentence, making Lillian curious.

What did Lyra teach him?

Did Lyra teach him some tricks to win a wife?

Curiosity got the better of her, and despite knowing he was baiting her, Lillian sent a question mark.

Jackson: [Grandma said, affectionate men are loved.]

Lillian couldn't help but laugh. That did sound like something Lyra would say.

Lillian: [What a good grandson.]

In the back seat of the Bentley, Jackson leaned lazily against the soft teddy bear, the documents on his lap long forgotten.

Seeing Lillian's praise, Jackson was speechless, letting out a few dissatisfied chuckles.

Lillian was getting more and more playful.

But this light and joyful atmosphere was really nostalgic.

Jackson silently noted this in his mind and replied with a smile: [I'll pick you up for lunch, and bring the bear.]

He eagerly watched the chat box, but Lillian refused without hesitation: [I have plans for lunch. Keep the bear; it suits you.]

Jackson was silent.

He glanced at the silly bear, looking disdainful.

A bear that couldn't even help him secure a lunch date was useless. How could it suit him?
