Chapter 293 Wendy's Child
Lillian nodded in a daze, gently stroking her belly with a mix of curiosity and anticipation.
"Is that so? Thank you for sharing your experience with me," Lillian said gratefully.
"It's nothing. I need to rush to work now. See you." Betty waved her hand and left.
Lillian turned to say goodbye but saw two people standing a few steps away. Her smile gradually froze.
It was Wendy and Rose.
Rose was supporting Wendy, who was wearing loose hospital clothes, and her belly was already slightly protruding.
Wendy's expression hadn't softened due to her pregnancy. Her eyes were fixed on Lillian's belly.
Her gaze made Lillian feel like a venomous snake was coiling around her.
Lillian frowned slightly, instinctively crossing her hands over her belly.
"Lillian, are you pregnant? Congratulations." In an instant, Wendy lifted her head, revealing a delighted smile as if she was genuinely happy for Lillian.
At the sight of Wendy, Lillian's good mood vanished.
She didn't want to get entangled with Wendy, so she averted her gaze and turned to enter the elevator.
Unexpectedly, Rose and Wendy followed her in.
Lillian frowned and moved to the side, not wanting to interact with them.
Wendy, however, wasn't willing to let it go easily. She smiled and asked, "Lillian, your belly doesn't even show you're pregnant yet. It looks like your baby is younger than mine. When our babies are born, your child will call my child as big brother."
She stroked her belly and continued, "Baby, you must take care of your little brother or sister in the future."
Wendy's words made Lillian feel nauseous.
Lillian waved her hand near her nose and said, "Wendy, can't you come up with a new topic? What you say is so tiresome and unoriginal."
Wendy feigned surprise and said sadly, "What do you mean by that? I genuinely want the kids to get along. By the way, does Jackson know you're pregnant?"
Lillian replied coldly, "You say all this just to upset me. However, is the child in your belly really Jackson's? Do you think you can still provoke me? Stop wasting your effort. I feel ashamed for you."
Wendy looked aggrieved, and Rose, supporting her, frowned and said to Lillian, "Ms. Young, your words are too harsh. Wendy greeted you with a smile. Why are you so aggressive?"
Lillian's eyes turned cold as she questioned, "How did you get out of the police station? A criminal like you who violated the defamation law hasn't the right to speak here."
Rose had just been bailed out this morning, which took a lot of time.
Thinking about the days she spent in custody, she wished she could tear Lillian and Shirley apart.
But she knew Lillian was harder to deal with than she had imagined, so she didn't dare to act rashly.
Rose gritted her teeth and fell silent.
Wendy sighed and said, "Lillian, I pleaded with Jackson, and he agreed to let Rose go. You should think about it. If Jackson hadn't agreed, how could the police dare to release Rose on bail?"
Lillian's spirits plummeted because she knew it was true.
In Miracalia, if Jackson wanted to punish someone, that person wouldn't stand a chance to escape.
Seeing Lillian lower her eyes in silence, clearly upset, Wendy felt satisfied and continued, "Lillian, matters between adults shouldn't involve the children. When the babies are born, they can get along well. Don't you want your baby to have an older brother to play with?"
Lillian lifted her eyes, sneering. "Stop trying to build a relationship. You are shameless and want your child to inherit your qualities. Have you asked for his opinion?"
Wendy's nails dug into her palm, but she smiled and retorted, "I'm not building a relationship. Why don't you go ask Jackson if he wants your baby to call my child as big brother."
Wendy spoke with confidence and certainty.
She slightly raised her chin, her eyes filled with smug provocation.
Lillian was already sick of Wendy's words.
The thought of her future Taylor calling Wendy's child brother made Lillian frown.
She thought, 'What is the background of Wendy's child?'
