Chapter 646

After leaving the Frane Mansion, Lillian pulled back the blanket and lifted her head a bit in the car.

"What's up? Need some water?" Shirley asked, grabbing Lillian's hand with concern.

Lillian gave a small smile, signaling Shirley to help her sit up.

Shirley gently helped her up, treating her like she was made of glass. Flora, sitting next to them, quickly wrapped the blanket around Lillian again.

Lillian half-sat up and looked towards Ambrose in the driver's seat.

As soon as she moved, Ambrose slowed the car and kept an eye on her through the rearview mirror.

Their eyes met in the mirror, and Ambrose waited for her to speak.

"Ambrose, can you take me to Duke University Hospital? I already arranged with Barry to be admitted there," she said.

Lillian had a car accident and lost a lot of blood. The doctor was worried about complications and suggested she stay in the hospital for at least two weeks to make sure she was okay before going home.

She still needed treatment. Lillian had agreed to go home with Flora to leave the Frane Mansion as soon as possible.

But she had no real ties to the Kelly Family. She couldn't just go to their home because Flora thought she was her daughter.

Especially given her current condition, it would be really inappropriate.

But as soon as she finished speaking, Flora's eyes teared up, and she grabbed Lillian's hand tightly. "Ophelia, you're not coming home with me? You promised! You can't go back on your word. No, Ambrose, drive faster, we're going home!"

Seeing Flora about to cry, Lillian quickly smiled to comfort her. "I need to stay in the hospital because I'm sick. Once I'm better, I'll definitely go home, okay?"

Flora pouted and said, "We can have the doctor come to the house! You're lying to me. Last time, you disappeared from the hospital!"

Flora clearly remembered the last time she went to see Lillian in the hospital, and Lillian had been taken away by Jackson.

Lillian shook her head and said, "Not this time. I promise I'll stay in the hospital."

She looked to Ambrose for help.

Ambrose didn't help her. Instead, he said, "My grandma and I promised Mrs. Frane we'd take good care of you. That's why she let us take you. How can we just drop you off at the hospital?"

Lillian looked embarrassed and anxious.

Oberon hadn't come along this time and probably didn't know Flora and the others had taken her out of the Frane Mansion.

Whether Oberon would mind her going to Mystic Meadows was still unknown. Lillian hadn't forgotten that Anouk was still there.

The last time Anouk saw her, she didn't seem to have a good impression of her.

Moreover, given her current state, she really didn't want to think about relationships right now, nor did she want to face Ambrose constantly.

At this moment, she felt a bit torn and regretted waking up earlier, being too eager to leave, and letting the Kelly Family take her away.

Seeing her anxious expression and the sweat on her forehead, Ambrose, who had been watching her, couldn't bear to make things difficult for her.

"Lie back down. We need to turn right at the next intersection to get to Duke University Hospital," Ambrose said.

Lillian was slightly stunned, then immediately relaxed and gave Ambrose a sincere, relieved smile.

Ambrose smiled back at her, looking ahead, but his fingers subtly tapped the steering wheel, deep in thought.

When he had carried Lillian away earlier, he had picked up two strands of her hair from the bed, which could be used for a paternity test.

Even though he wanted to take her back to Mystic Meadows, things were still up in the air.

Plus, Anouk was at home, and she wasn't exactly easy to deal with.

Before confirming Lillian's identity, bringing her to Mystic Meadows too soon might make her uncomfortable and cause some drama.

Taking her to the hospital first was a smart move. Once the paternity test results were in, if Lillian was indeed a Kelly, they'd need to figure out who faked Anouk's paternity test back then.

Whoever forged that test might be the same person who swapped the kids years ago.

If that was the case, that person wouldn't want Lillian's true identity to come out and might try to harm her.

Since nothing was clear yet, it wasn't the right time to bring Lillian back to Mystic Meadows.

Ambrose's car had just left the Frane Mansion when Harry helped Jackson, who was coughing up blood, into another car.

As their car left the Frane Mansion, they spotted the Kelly Family's car in the distance.

Ambrose was probably worried about Lillian and wasn't driving fast.

"Mr. Frane, Mrs. Frane is in the car ahead." Harry pointed out.

Jackson, who had his eyes closed, opened them and stared at the car ahead, trying to see through the windows to the people inside.

Harry murmured, "Weird, why did they turn left? The Kelly Family lives in Mystic Meadows, which isn't that way."

Before Harry could finish, Jackson ordered, "Follow them."

Harry frowned and said, "Mr. Frane, your stomach bleeding has gotten worse. We should go to the hospital first; the doctors are waiting."

Jackson had just vomited two large mouthfuls of blood, so Harry had contacted the doctor.

The doctor said Jackson's internal bleeding was out of control due to a lack of proper rest and that he needed immediate surgery.

The doctors and the operating room were ready, but now Jackson wanted to chase after Lillian.

The thing was, Lillian didn't want to see him. Even if they caught up, what would it achieve?

Jackson's stern look made Harry realize he couldn't argue.

He kept quiet and followed the turn.

"Don't follow too closely," Jackson ordered again.

Harry had a bad feeling, sensing that Jackson was becoming more like a stalker.

As his bodyguard, he felt useless and now had to act like a creep.

Half an hour later, in the hospital parking lot...

Harry, who had gone to gather information, hurriedly opened the car door and leaned in to report to Jackson, "Mrs. Frane has been settled in the obstetrics ward. Let's get you back to Frane Hospital; the doctors have already called three times."

"Frane Hospital? I might end up on the operating table with my organs harvested without knowing it!" Jackson retorted.

Taylor's umbilical cord had been taken without notifying the family, and Lillian had been forcibly subjected to an amniocentesis for a secret match test.

Later, a doctor had even tried to sneak into the ward to kill her. Although that was a trap set by Jackson himself, he hadn't expected the perpetrator to be a hospital doctor.

After discovering the truth about Jeffrey's surgery, Jackson had raged in the hospital, punishing all those involved who had been bribed by Daisy.

But Jackson being on the operating table and having his organs harvested was unlikely.

Watching Jackson get out of the car, clutching his stomach and heading toward the clinic building, clearly determined to have his surgery and stay there, Harry sighed and followed.

He thought to himself, 'Mr. Frane, why are you doing this to yourself? Mrs. Frane now has Dr. Barry and Mr. Kelly with her. Wouldn't it be better to stay away? Why insist on staying so close and torturing yourself?'
