Chapter 236 Be Angry For Her

Daisy argued, "Aren't you and Lillian already divorced? Since you're no longer together, what's the problem with me and my friends talking about her? What did I say that wasn't true? You wouldn't be so angry as to drive my guests away."

Jackson, seeing that she still didn't realize her mistake, could imagine how she had treated Lillian over the past two years.

His expression was sullen as he asked, "Regarding the Hall family's proposal back then, you claimed that you informed Lillian, and she considered it. Is that true?"

When Jackson suddenly mentioned events from four years ago, Daisy was taken aback and nervously fidgeted with her fingers.

"Of course, it's true. Why would you suddenly..." Daisy replied faintly.

"No! You actually never told Lillian back then. Could the medicine that might have been your doing?" Jackson questioned sternly. He came back today just to clear up the affairs of that year.

Unexpectedly, he stumbled upon Daisy and a few other ladies gossiping. He knew Daisy had never liked Lillian, but he didn't expect it to go this far.

"What are you saying, Jackson? You're my son, and I'm willing to give you the best of everything. Lillian has nothing. How could I possibly drug you and help her? It was definitely Lillian who drugged you!" Daisy argued angrily, furrowing her brow. "Why are you suddenly asking about this again? Did Lillian say something to you? Even when she's about to divorce, she is still annoying, trying to sow discord between us!"

Jackson stared at her. Daisy's dislike of Lillian was crystal clear.

From this perspective, it didn't seem like something Daisy would do.

He said in a low voice, "You haven't answered the previous question. Why did you lie to me about Lillian knowing?"

Daisy pursed her lips and snorted, "Why else? Back then, Martin had already agreed to the Hall family's proposal. Lillian was just a troublemaker, and there was no way she would listen. If you had known that Lillian was kept in the dark, and you would have had endless arguments with the family for her sake. I said it that way at the time because I hoped that if you heard she was considering it, you might not get involved in this matter and let her smoothly go to the Hall family. But I didn't expect that you would still have a fierce argument with Martin. Later, when you had that scandal with her, and Mrs. Hall didn't want her anymore, that matter ended, and I never brought it up to Lillian again."

Daisy was unaware of what Lillian had done to Jackson, causing him to repeatedly betray his parents and relatives.

Jackson fixed his sullen gaze on Daisy and said coldly, "It's best if it's just that."

Daisy frowned, feeling an inexplicable chill.

Jackson added, "I haven't divorced Lillian yet, and she's still my wife. If anyone slanders her again, I won't stand by, and neither will you!"

Daisy paled and asked, "What do you mean? What else do you want to do to me? Have you not defied your elders enough for her?"

Jackson turned and walked out, and a servant came forward to comfort Daisy.

Daisy was helped onto the sofa, her chest heaving, her face turning gloomy.

Jeffrey hid outside the window, shrunk back his head, and ran back to the room.

As Jackson left Golden Oaks Manor, he called Harry, "Look into the events of that night four years ago again! Don't overlook any details."

He tapped his knee with his fingers, his gaze deep, saying, "Focus on the servants who went in and out of Lillian's room that night, the ones who took out the trash."

It would not have been a coincidence that the shredded paper package with the drug powder was found in the trash can of Lillian's room.

If he found the mastermind, he would be close to finding the real culprit.

He had to figure out clearly who drugged him and for what purpose.

At night, as Lillian lay in bed, she opened the prenatal music on her phone, and placed it on the bedside table. As she was preparing to sleep, her phone rang.

Lillian picked up her phone and saw a video sent by Jeffrey on Facebook.

Lillian had been too busy lately to visit Jeffrey often, but they contacted each other via Facebook every day.

It was late, and Jeffrey was still awake.

Lillian smiled, opened Facebook, and saw the video.

She clicked on it. After looking at the content, she was slightly stunned.
