Chapter 433

Kevin rushed over to help Gemma, who already had a slap mark on her face. Kevin's dad had died early, and he was really close to Gemma. He couldn't stand seeing his mom disrespected, and his face showed it.

"Mrs. Daisy Frane! Even if you're mad, you need to watch where you are! Grandma's still here, and no matter how weak we are, my mom's still part of the Frane family. I won't let you hit her!" Kevin said this while shoving Daisy.

Daisy stumbled and slipped by the stairs, falling towards the hotel's spiral staircase.

"Mrs. Daisy Frane, watch out!" Wendy yelled.

Wendy suddenly appeared, trying to catch Daisy. But Daisy panicked and struggled, making things worse. Wendy couldn't hold her, and they both fell towards the stairs.

Lillian instinctively moved forward, but someone else was faster. A pink blur pushed Daisy and Wendy away. Daisy hit the ground sideways, and Wendy landed on top of her, making Daisy scream. But the person who pushed them lost balance and tumbled down the stairs.

Lillian felt a chill and went pale. The person who had pushed them to safety and then fell was Shirley!

"No!"

Lillian's voice was distant yet filled with sorrow and pain. When Jackson rushed into the lobby, he heard Lillian's familiar, heart-wrenching cry. At the same time, there were sounds of something heavy falling and screams everywhere.

Jackson's heart sank, and he froze.

"Someone fell down the stairs!"

"It looks like the bride."

"Quick, call an ambulance!"

Amid the chaos, Jackson had never felt such fear and panic. His legs almost gave out as he looked towards the stairs. But then he saw Lillian, and his eyes lit up. She was in her wedding dress, unharmed, but frantically running down the stairs.

On the platform in the middle of the spiral staircase lay a woman in a pink chiffon dress. Jackson didn't care who it was; he only focused on Lillian, his hands shaking. He feared she might fall too and rushed up the stairs.

By then, Lillian was already kneeling, trembling as she touched Shirley's hair. From Daisy's rush to Shirley's fall, it had only been a minute or two. Lillian was in shock; she couldn't believe Shirley had fallen.

It felt like a nightmare—suffocating and painful. This was all her fault. This whole wedding was her idea, and if anyone should be punished, it should be her. Why did Shirley have to suffer?

Seeing blood slowly seeping from Shirley's scalp, Lillian trembled. She wished it was her who had fallen, longing to end it all with her own life.
