Chapter 345 Scars

Wendy said that the injuries on Jackson's body were all sustained while searching for Star.

The number of scars on Jackson's body equates to the number of times he risked his life for Star.

"Do you want it?" Jackson's husky, amused voice suddenly rang out.

Lillian snapped out of it and realized that her gaze had been fixed on the scar extended from his abs into his waistband for too long.

And he had clearly misunderstood, his body already reacting.

Lillian hurriedly averted her gaze, intending to shake her head in denial, but Jackson had already grabbed her chin.

His large hand encircled her waist, and his long legs spread apart. He pulled Lillian forward and leaned in to kiss her.

Lillian was forced between his legs. He kissed her fiercely, her soft lips and teeth ruthlessly ravaged by him, and something even hotter than his lips pressed against her between his legs.

Before Lillian could react, Jackson leaned back against the headboard, gripped her waist, and pulled her onto the bed, making her straddle his muscular thighs.

Lillian wasn't in the mood to do this.

She pressed her small hands against his chest, turning her head and whispering, "No. Pay attention to your wound."

Jackson pulled away from her lips, placed Lillian's hand on the zipper of his suit pants, and chuckled softly. "Yes, I'm injured. So, Mrs. Frane, if you want it, you'll have to take it yourself."

Lillian curled her fingers, and Jackson mistook it for shyness, kissing her flushed earlobe and coaxing in a hoarse voice. "Come on, you can do it."

Lillian's ears burned, but she forcefully pulled her hand back.

She shook her head and said, "Stop it. I didn't mean that. Your wounds aren't even bandaged properly. Besides, I really have something to do today."

She pushed Jackson away and jumped off the bed to get the bandages.

Lillian moved quickly, and Jackson's eyes showed a hint of disappointment, but he didn't force her.

He swallowed hard, trying to calm his agitated body.

Lillian hurriedly bandaged Jackson, then moved behind him to tie the knot.

There were more scars on Jackson's back.

After securing the bandage, Lillian knelt behind him, her fingers tracing the intersecting scars on his back, asking again, "Jackson, did you get all these injuries in Averlake?"

"Feeling sorry for me?" Jackson grabbed a shirt and asked with a smile.

Lillian thought, 'He is about to get up and put it on. He is going to avoid the topic, hiding these scars again.'

Lillian raised her hand to press down on Jackson's shoulder.

Jackson paused, feeling Lillian's soft fingertips tracing the scars on his back, sending shivers through him.

"Jackson, can't you tell me how you got these injuries?" Lillian asked softly, her breath brushing against his skin.

Jackson's mouth went dry, and he thought Lillian had been punishing him in her way all along.

He found it hard to withstand her questioning.

Jackson replied hoarsely, "Got them while looking for someone."

"Is that person very important to you?" Lillian asked.

"Yes," Jackson replied.

"Someone you would risk your life to find?"

"Yes."

Lillian sadly thought, 'Every scar on Jackson's body is a badge of honor for risking his life for Star. They brand on his body but etch in my eyes, hurting my heart.'

Lillian silently counted, her throat choked with emotion, unable to continue.

She suddenly closed her eyes, curling her fingers back.

Her face was pale, and she was too exhausted to continue questioning.

There was no need to ask anymore. The important person he was looking for was indeed Star.

Lillian thought, 'So, these injuries were really sustained for Star. Jackson has a rare blood type, so each wound can potentially expose him to the danger of excessive blood loss. Wendy said that the number of scars on his body equated to the number of times he risked his life for Star, and she was right.'

Lillian suddenly covered her mouth, but the tears kept falling.

She was too heartbroken, but even more uncontrollable was the deep jealousy and endless helplessness.

At that moment, she no longer had the strength to ask Jackson anything else.
