Chapter 773
Lillian's face was full of panic, her voice trembling.
She was a bit annoyed, as she was wearing a tight, knee-length skirt under her coat today, making it impossible to run.
At this moment, she realized that she instinctively trusted and relied on Jackson.
"Don't panic, I'm here." Jackson's deep voice sounded beside her.
At the same time, Jackson's large hand patted her shoulder reassuringly, and he swiftly ran towards the pool.
Lillian felt slightly relieved, finding some strength in her weakened legs.
But just as Jackson reached the poolside, there was another loud splash.
It turned out that Gray had also jumped from the third floor.
By the time Lillian reached the poolside, Gray had already swum to the bottom of the pool and pulled Shirley up, quickly surfacing.
Jackson also entered the pool, swimming rapidly towards Gray.
Seeing this, Lillian felt a bit more at ease and didn't jump in after them.
"How is she?" Jackson swam over and asked.
"She's fine."
Gray's face was slightly pale, but he seemed to be in good condition, showing no signs of exhaustion or injury.
However, Shirley, whom he was dragging, was clearly unconscious.
Shirley's bathrobe had come undone, and seeing that Gray was okay, Jackson didn't go to help but swam back to the poolside.
Lillian was anxiously waiting, having taken off her coat.
As soon as Gray brought Shirley to the shore, Lillian quickly wrapped her in the coat and anxiously checked her condition.
"Shirley? Shirley!"
Lillian lightly patted Shirley's face, seeing her pale face and closed eyes with no response, she quickly laid her down and pressed on her chest.
Fortunately, they had rescued her in time, and Shirley soon turned her head and coughed up some water.
Gray, panting at the poolside, finally closed his anxious, bloodshot eyes and let out a long breath.
"Jackson, take Shirley inside."
Lillian looked up, and Jackson bent down to pick Shirley up, leading the way into the villa.
Gray took a moment to catch his breath before climbing out of the pool.
But as soon as he stood up, he was met with a slap to the face.
A crisp sound.
Lillian's expression was icy, "What did you do to Shirley that made her jump off the building? She's already broken up with you, can't you just let her go?"
"I..."
Gray's cheek stung, and he turned his head, frowning, his eyes angrily glaring back at Lillian.
However, before he could say anything in defense, Lillian turned and ran into the villa.
Gray clenched his fists, his face darkening as he followed her inside.
Half an hour later, a private doctor arrived to give the still-unconscious Shirley a full examination.
"Doctor, how is she?" Lillian asked anxiously, holding Shirley's hand.
"Nothing serious, don't worry too much," the doctor said as he packed up his medical kit.
Lillian frowned in surprise, "Nothing serious? What do you mean, she's unconscious, shouldn't she be treated?"
Why did the doctor's attitude seem so nonchalant?
"She doesn't have any serious injuries, and she's not unconscious, just deeply asleep from being drunk. How much did she drink to get this drunk? Don't worry, she'll wake up once she sobers up. If you really want to treat her, just give her some hangover medicine."
Lillian was speechless.
She looked at Shirley lying there, covered with a blanket and silent, not knowing whether to be relieved or to wake her up and scold her.
She really gave everyone a scare.
Lillian thanked the doctor, who nodded and left.
Lillian tucked Shirley in and then left the room.
In the living room, Jackson and Gray were still waiting. When the doctor came out, Gray looked up.
"How is she?"
The doctor explained the situation and then approached Gray.
"Mr. Flores, how are you? Let me check you as well."
She was the Flores family's private doctor, and upon arriving, she wanted to check Gray first, but he had refused, asking her to see Shirley first.
But Gray's face was clearly not looking good, and the doctor approached to ask how he was feeling.
Gray waved her off, "I'm fine, no need to check."
The doctor frowned, "But you have a wound on your forehead, and your face..."
Gray's forehead was indeed swollen, and the slap mark on his right cheek was obvious, a result of Lillian's earlier slap.
Gray's face darkened, and he raised his hand to block the doctor's attempt to examine him, impatiently saying,
"I just accidentally bumped it, I said I'm fine. You can leave now, and I don't want today's events to be spread around."
This private doctor had worked for the Flores family for many years, and if he hadn't been nearby, Gray wouldn't have called him over.
Gray was worried the doctor might tell his parents about what happened here.
Seeing Gray insist he was fine, the doctor didn't stay long and soon left.
After the doctor left, Gray held his forehead and dry-heaved.
Jackson's lips thinned, "It's just the third floor, and you're so fragile you got a concussion?"
Gray took a moment to recover, feeling annoyed. "I got this from Shirley hitting me!"
Lillian crossed her arms, showing no sympathy. "So why did Shirley hit you for no reason?"
Lillian's eyes were sharp and questioning, looking at him as if he were a criminal.
Gray felt a surge of anger, his right cheek burning from the slap.
He was furious, "Which eye of yours saw me bullying her? I..."
Before Gray could finish, he felt a pain in his leg.
He recoiled, crying out in pain, and looked incredulously at Jackson.
"Jackson, I'm already like this, and you kicked me?"
Jackson's handsome face remained cold and unmoved.
"Speak to Lillian properly!"
Gray almost choked on his anger. Was he not speaking properly to Lillian?
It was clearly Lillian who, without knowing the full story, suspected him, insulted his character, and even hit him!
"She..." He shouted, but seeing Jackson's warning look, he swallowed his angry words.
"What could I have done to Shirley! I saw she was drunk and kindly brought her back to rest.
"She threw up all over my car and me, and I didn't say anything, even helped her change clothes, and then she suddenly went crazy.
"Not only did she kick me in the chest, making me hit my head, but she also jumped off herself. How is that my fault?"
Gray held his forehead, his handsome face full of grievance and frustration.
He felt incredibly unlucky. If he had known Shirley would be so troublesome and crazy when drunk, he wouldn't have let her drink in the first place.
But despite Gray's clear explanation and his grievances, when he looked up, he saw that both Lillian and Jackson were still looking at him with scrutinizing and suspicious eyes.
"Fuck! I'm telling the truth, why are you looking at me like I'm a criminal!"
