Chapter 529
Susan finally pleaded.
However, the living room remained in prolonged silence.
Jackson's jaw was clenched, his deep eyes dark and brooding.
He didn't respond, and Susan was completely disappointed, her body swaying.
Star let out a suppressed whimper, and Susan lowered her head in despair. She said to the police officer, "Can I go inside to change my clothes? At least let me leave this house with some dignity in front of my husband and daughter."
She was wearing a thin, homey nightgown.
Generally, if a suspect doesn't resist arrest and cooperates, the police won't make things difficult for such a request.
But with Jackson present, the police officer didn't dare to make a decision on his own and looked to Jackson for guidance.
Jackson frowned slightly. Dominic said, his voice hoarse, "Jackson, you want me to kneel and beg you?
Jackson finally said to the police officer, "You decide."
The police officer put away the handcuffs and said, "Make it quick."
Star quickly wiped away her tears and approached Susan. "Mom, I'll help you."
Susan, however, patted her hand. "Let Dominic accompany me," she said. "It might be the last time I get to be alone with him in this life."
Star started crying again.
Dominic supported Susan, and the two headed towards the room.
Jackson glanced at the lead police officer.
The officer followed his gaze and then signaled two other officers to closely guard the windows.
Dominic and Susan were talking.
"You need to pick a nice outfit for me."
"Alright, and I'll do your hair like the first time we met."
Jackson watched Dominic and Susan walk away, his expression unreadable.
Dominic and Susan had a good relationship, and the Price family's atmosphere had always been warm and loving. When he was young, he loved spending time at the Pricemansion.
He never felt motherly love from Daisy. But Susan, his Godmother, often did more for him than Daisy did.
Over the years, his respect and affection for Susan were genuine, but he never expected Susan to commit such a cruel and ruthless act.
Jackson looked towards the stairs, his eyes incredibly dark.
He lowered his gaze and said to Lillian, "Are you tired? I'll take you home first."
Lillian was indeed a bit tired, but she didn't need Jackson to take her. She shook her head and said, "Thank you, I can go back by myself."
Jackson was still holding her hand tightly. Lillian looked down, signaling Jackson to let go.
But Jackson didn't let go. "Where are you planning to stay? Let Harry take you."
Lillian pursed her lips, but seeing that Jackson had already made a concession, she knew she had no other choice, so she said, "I'll go to..."
However, before she could finish her sentence, cries and commotion suddenly erupted from upstairs.
Something had clearly happened.
"Harry! Watch her." Jackson's handsome face changed slightly as he sternly ordered Harry to protect Lillian.
Then, he let go of Lillian and rushed upstairs. Star, who was crying nearby, also wiped her tears and followed.
Lillian frowned, her heart sinking slightly, not knowing what had happened.
Upstairs, Jackson rushed to the master bedroom door, which was open.
He immediately saw the scene inside. Susan hadn't changed her clothes; she was lying on the bed, her face stiff and twisted, with a pool of white foam by her pillow.
Beside her lay a syringe and a suicide note.
