Chapter 115 "Give Him a Chance to Prove Himself."
"Are you Lillian's cousin?" Nathan was surprised.
Lillian and Jeffrey had different last names. When Nathan asked Jeffrey about it, Jeffrey said Lillian was his cousin.
He thought Lillian should have taken her mother's last name, and now that Jeffrey called Jackson, he assumed that Jackson was Lillian's cousin.
Seeing that he misunderstood, Lillian wanted to explain, but Jackson nodded first.
"Do you have any objections?"
Lillian frowned, how could he deliberately let Nathan misunderstand?
But when Lillian saw Nathan scratching his head, instantly changing his attitude to apologize to Jackson, and even asking if he was thirsty or wanted something to drink, she understood Jackson's intention for doing so.
"He's not thirsty! Nathan, you don't need to worry about him, don't go!"
Lillian couldn't bear to see Nathan, such an innocent child, being teased by Jackson, so she stopped Nathan from buying drinks.
However, Jackson held Lillian's hand tightly and whispered, "If he wants to chase you, how can he not run around? I'm giving him a chance to prove himself."
He then looked at Nathan. "What do you think?"
Nathan smiled and winked at Lillian. "He's right, Lillian. Please help me watch Olivia, I'll be right back."
He waved his hand and ran to the vending machine.
Lillian pushed away Jackson and grabbed Olivia and Jeffrey's hand. "Let's go play over there and not disturb Jackson and Gray."
She walked away with them, and Gray watched her back before turning to look at Jackson.
"Jackson, how dare she treat you like that?"
He thought that when Jackson came over, he would see Lillian crying and repenting.
Jackson couldn't be bothered to reply to him, only asking, "What are you doing here?"
Gray, a big man, encountered Lillian here by chance, which was quite strange.
Gray raised his hand to pat Jackson's shoulder again. "Jackson, have you forgotten? We're here for a date."
Jackson was disgusted by him.
"If you dare to touch my shoulder again, you'll regret it."
Gray withdrew his hand, and Jackson walked towards Lillian alone.
Gray also followed and explained, "This thematic park was my mother's dowry. Recently, nocturnal performances have incorporated drone displays and several other attractions; I am here in her stead to oversee."
At that moment, a staff member approached Gray and asked him to come over, and Gray left.
Jackson followed Lillian's direction alone.
At the same time, Lillian had been pulled to the entrance of the haunted house by Olivia and Jeffrey.
Nathan also brought drinks over. He procured warm milk for both Lillian and the two kids. He handed one to Lillian with a smile and said, "This is sugar-free just for you. It won't make you gain weight, have a try?"
Lillian's figure showed that she had maintained discipline for years.
Lillian didn't expect him to be so considerate. As she was about to take it, Jackson walked over and took the milk.
"I happen to want to drink this."
Nathan looked at him and said, "Jackson, aren't you going to have a cold drink? This cup of iced lemon tea is for you."
He handed the drink cup over, but Jackson didn't take it. He said softly, "I can't handle sour things."
At that moment, a soft voice sounded.
"Jackson, how did you end up here?"
It was Wendy running over, seemingly just noticing Lillian, and said in surprise, "Lillian, are you here too? Are you going to the haunted house together? Let's go in together."
She stood next to Jackson.
Lillian glanced at the two of them and looked away.
She thought that Jackson and Gray were just two men wandering around the amusement park, but it turned out he was with Wendy.
She wasn't angry, but why did Jackson hide it from her?
Was he afraid she would go crazy and hurt Wendy?
"Are you Lillian's sister-in-law? Here's a cup of lemon water, would you like it?" Nathan handed the lemon water to Wendy.
Jackson's eyes narrowed at Nathan, showing a hint of frost.
Wendy smiled and accepted it without refuting it. "Thank you."
Jeffrey was happy to see Jackson, thinking that if Jackson treated Lillian well, he would support him.
Little did he know that Jackson wasn't there to please Lillian at all, but had brought Wendy along.
