Chapter 381 Star Issue
However, Jackson didn't want to hear her cold remarks anymore. He bent down and picked her up, intending to put her on the bed.
Instinctively, Lillian wrapped her arms around Jackson's neck and whispered, "I want to take a shower."
Jackson firmly refused. "No, the doctor said you can't today."
Lillian retorted, "You're not a doctor."
Jackson remarked, "I've asked the doctor!"
He spoke with conviction, clearly having asked.
Lillian felt a slight stir in her heart.
She had thought Jackson, like Daisy, only cared about whether Taylor could save Jeffrey's life and had come back for that reason.
However, he didn't allow Daisy to do a blood type test and specifically asked the doctor about these precautions, which seemed to show he cared about Taylor.
Lillian couldn't understand Jackson's thoughts now.
"I just want to wipe my body a bit," Lillian whispered.
She had danced for a long time with the troupe today, planning to shower at night, but ended up being taken to the hospital and later broke out in cold sweats.
She felt she had an odor now.
Unexpectedly, Jackson lowered his head and sniffed her hair.
Lillian turned her head in embarrassment, saying, "Don't smell!"
Jackson lifted his head. Seeing her slightly reddened ears, he felt much of his anger dissipated.
He chuckled and raised an eyebrow, saying, "Why are you in such a hurry? I'm not one of your fans. Do you still care about this in front of me?"
Lillian fell silent.
She had posted dance videos on social media, though without showing her face, and had quite a few fans.
She didn't expect Jackson to know even this.
She was momentarily speechless, and Jackson placed her on the bed, saying, "Are you shy in front of me because I'm your husband?"
Lillian turned her head and whispered, "Soon, you won't be my husband."
This time, Jackson wasn't angry and just let out a cold laugh. "Are you still thinking about divorce? Dream on!"
Lillian retorted, "We've already filed for divorce and can get the certificate after 23 days."
Jackson snorted, "You've got it all figured out. Loook. Even on the day we can get the certificate, I won't go!"
After saying this, Jackson ruffled Lillian's hair and added, "You don't smell bad, and you're still fragrant. Be good and stop thinking about things you shouldn't."
His words had double meanings: refusing the divorce and not letting her shower.
Lillian had never found him so detestable. Just briefly getting along with him peacefully made her frustrated again.
She grabbed a pillow and threw it at Jackson, shouting, "Are you going to say that the Frane family doesn't believe in divorce? Since Star has returned, why do you persist in having me act as her substitute? You may love it, but I have my pride. Jackson, I won't be a substitute!"
Lillian was really furious. Not satisfied with just throwing a pillow, she reached for the glass on the bedside table and threw it at Jackson.
She thought she would definitely miss, given Jackson's agility.
But Jackson didn't dodge, standing still.
The glass hit his forehead accurately and rolled to the floor.
Fortunately, there was a thick carpet by the bed, so the glass didn't break, but Jackson's forehead immediately swelled with a red bump.
Lillian became somewhat flustered and knelt up, saying, "Why didn't you dodge? Just because you heard Star's name, you froze? Is she so important to you that just hearing her name makes you lose your composure?"
Jealous and angry, she was about to get up from the bed to check his forehead.
But Jackson suddenly grabbed her arm. He was so strong that he hurt Lillian.
Lillian's face turned pale, and the next second, her world spun as Jackson pinned her to the bed.
His face was sullen as he gripped her chin and sternly asked, "Who told you about Star? And who said you are Star's substitute?"
