Chapter 515 Innocent
Star cleared her name completely.
"You turned me down, but two days after I got back, I got a message. They sent me abroad and tried to hurt me. Miss Price, do you really think you can cover what you've done?"
Star was stunned. "What message? What harm? I swear, Jackson, I had no idea! How could I do that?"
She went pale, shaking her head, tears streaming down.
Jackson's eyes were cold. "So you're saying you were framed again? Lilian left and told you. If it wasn't you, then who?"
Star choked up. "I didn't do it. Do you really think I'm that cruel? I have no clue what's going on!
Maybe someone overheard me and Lilian talking and set me up, or maybe Lilian told someone else about her plans."
"But the person who tried to kill Lilian abroad was your cousin Don!" Jackson said coldly.
Star's lips trembled, and she dropped her suitcase in shock.
She shook her head. "No way! How could this happen?"
Lilian, clenching her stomach, realized Jackson's arrival had prevented Taylor from facing trouble. The thought alone made her want to slap Star.
"Star, do you think a few tears will fix this?"
Star, with red eyes, looked at Lilian. "Lilian, I know I ruined your wedding, and you hate me, but you can't accuse me like this. This is a death sentence for me!"
Just then, a hoarse voice spoke up.
"Jackson, stop questioning Star. She knows nothing! I did everything. If you have questions, ask me."
Lilian turned to see a servant pushing Susan over.
Susan was covered in a blanket, appearing fragile and blind, with sallow skin and gray hair.
She always looked pitiful, but Lilian felt she was malicious.
Lilian shivered, feeling a chill down her spine.
Jackson held her tightly, frowning, staring at Susan with coldness and pain.
Star, panting, ran over and knelt in front of the wheelchair, eyes wide.
"Mom, what are you saying? How could this be you? No, it's impossible, Mom, don't scare me!"
Susan held Star's hand and looked at Jackson.
"That day, Star came home and told me about the problems you and Lilian were having. Lilian had asked her for help to escape.
Star asked if she should tell you. She had suffered so much and finally came back, but you loved someone else!
But Star still thought of you and wanted to help. I told her not to get involved and persuaded her.
But I wanted to help Star, so I used my connections to contact Lilian and arranged for her to be sent abroad. Star knew nothing about this!"
Star's tears fell onto Susan's legs.
"Mom, you're lying, right? How could you do this?"
Susan stroked Star's hair.
"Don't cry. I knew you were kind-hearted. If you knew, you would have stopped me, so I kept it from you."
Susan then looked at Jackson.
"Jackson, Lilian wanted to leave. I just helped her. I did this to prevent you from resenting each other. You may not understand, but this started with Mrs. Frane. She planned to escape, and I just helped. Star is innocent."
