Chapter 591

Oberon let go of Flora's hand, got up, and gave Ambrose a pat on the shoulder.

Even though Oberon felt bad for Lillian, he knew it was her own mess to deal with, and they weren't really family. Plus, he could tell Jackson was in rough shape.

Drenched, looking like death warmed over, and sporting a nasty bruise on his forehead, it was clear Jackson had been through the wringer.

Jackson must be feeling like crap too.

Ambrose kept quiet, and Oberon asked Jackson, "Who snatched Lillian?"

"Bob was thought to be Lillian's dad, but turns out she ain't his kid."

Jackson's eyes darkened at the mention of Bob.

Oberon knew Lillian had been mistakenly raised as a Sivan, but it was a shocker to hear she wasn't a Young either.

Jackson looked at Oberon and asked, "Mr. Oberon Kelly, how did you and Mr. Ambrose Kelly end up here?"

Oberon turned to Flora and said, "We weren't just passing by; we were coming to see Lillian."

Half an hour before the drama, Flora, who was already asleep, suddenly woke up, screaming that Ophelia was in trouble and insisting on finding her.

Oberon thought she was having a nightmare about Ophelia and tried to calm her down.

Usually, she'd go back to sleep after some comforting, but today Flora was unusually stubborn.

Oberon had no choice but to video call Lillian.

These past few days, Flora had been video calling Lillian a lot. Lillian was always super nice to Flora, picking up right away without any complaints.

But today, the call wouldn't go through, which made Oberon uneasy. Since Flora kept insisting on finding Lillian, Oberon asked Ambrose to drive them to Elegance Estates.

On the way, they stumbled upon Bob attacking Lillian, and by sheer luck, they managed to save her.

"Lillian must really have a connection with us," Oberon sighed, not expecting such a coincidence.

Jackson thanked them again and turned back to the entrance of the operating room.

Without Jackson's orders, Terry had already set up a fancy room as a resting area.

Oberon and Flora couldn't hold on any longer and were helped out half an hour later.

The light in the operating room went out an hour and a half later.

When the doctor came out, Jackson's stiff back trembled slightly.

He took a step forward, and the knuckles of his clenched fists made a suppressed cracking sound.

"Mr. Frane, Mrs. Frane's bleeding has been stopped, and she is not in immediate danger."

The doctor, under Jackson's bloodshot gaze, spoke with a trembling voice.

Jackson closed his eyes, his heart suddenly dropping, but then he heard the doctor continue, "But unfortunately, the baby was born prematurely and with complications, leading to severe blood and oxygen deprivation by the time they reached the operating room, and the umbilical cord was knotted."

Jackson stared at the doctor's moving mouth, feeling more impatient than ever. He suddenly grabbed the doctor's collar and hoarsely demanded, "What happened to the baby?"

"The baby was beyond saving at birth, Mr. Frane. I'm sorry."

The doctor's voice trembled, unable to meet Jackson's eyes.

Terry, standing behind Jackson, felt his mind go blank upon hearing the doctor's words.

Taylor was over seven months along.

It wasn't just an embryo; it was a fully formed baby, a little life that could have survived.

How could this happen?

Jackson's grip on the doctor's collar suddenly loosened, and he staggered back a few steps.

Terry instinctively reached out to support him, but Jackson pushed him away.

Jackson staggered to a standstill, head bowed, his shadow cast long and still under the cold white light.

The next second, that shadow shook violently.

Jackson's tall figure suddenly dropped to one knee, and he spat out a mouthful of blood.
