Chapter 815

Lillian's words were nothing like the obedient and gentle tone she used to have, leaving Martin momentarily stunned.

When he finally snapped out of it, he spoke with anger.

"Lillian! Who do you think you are, talking to your elders like that? Who gave you the nerve to be so disrespectful and defiant?!"

Before Lillian could respond, Jackson's deep voice cut in.

"Dad! And who gave you the right to yell at her like that?! Don't forget, she's no longer part of the Frane family, nor is she a little girl we took in. You have no authority to boss her around anymore."

Martin let out a cold laugh. "So, she's not planning to step foot in the Frane Villa again?"

Jackson nodded. "What, is the Frane Villa some kind of paradise?"

Since Lillian had no intention of coming back, Martin's anger subsided a bit.

He relaxed his brow and was about to speak again when Jackson continued.

"Don't worry, Dad. Even if we get back together, I'll be moving in with her. With you in the Frane family, I wouldn't want her to come back and suffer."

Martin's expression froze. He seemed to understand every word Jackson said, but when pieced together, it sounded utterly absurd.

"Moving in with her?"

Martin could hardly believe his ears.

Lillian was also quite surprised. She looked up at Jackson, her face showing a hint of shock.

Jackson pulled her closer, his eyes reassuring her before he lazily looked up and said.

"Do I need to explain what moving in with her means, Dad? It means that after Lillian and I get married, we won't need your approval. If you don't want to see us during the holidays, we won't come to bother you. And if we have kids, they'll take her last name..."

As Jackson described this, Martin's face grew darker, and he interrupted furiously.

"Are you saying the Frane family hasn't lost enough face because of her? And her father kidnapped her and tried to extort money. If he hadn't been killed in an accident, he'd still be in prison. What are you thinking, moving in with her?!"

Hearing Martin's words, Lillian was even more astonished.

She had been back with the Kelly family for so long and had even changed her last name. Jackson and Lyra both knew this.

But apparently, Martin was still in the dark?

It was clear that neither Jackson nor Lyra had told Martin anything.

"I'm moving in with her because of Lillian, not because of any family status. As long as she's there, I'm willing to move in."

Jackson chuckled lightly, his words firm.

Martin was livid.

His chest heaved with anger, and his face turned pale.

"Fine, fine! What kind of spell has she cast on you that you're willing to disregard everything for her? I got a call from Dominic. He said you canceled the long-standing business relationship between the Frane family and the Price family because of Lillian. I didn't believe it, but it seems he wasn't wrong!"

Jackson's eyes sharpened instantly.

Lillian also understood now. She had wondered why Martin had suddenly shown up.

It turned out he had received a complaint call from Dominic, who had been friends with Martin for decades.

Jackson's lips curled slightly as he said.

"Just as you see."

He clearly didn't want to argue with Martin any further. Holding Lillian, he said again.

"Feel free to leave."

With that, Jackson led Lillian out, ignoring Martin's angry shouts.

Jackson didn't stop, and naturally, Lillian didn't either. They quickly exited through the front door.

Behind them, the sound of something breaking echoed, making Lillian frown instinctively.

"Are you sure it's okay to leave him like that?" she asked, worried that Martin, in his rage, might end up smashing everything in the Peace Mansion.

Jackson opened the car door and helped Lillian into the passenger seat before saying, "If he wants to smash things, let him. I'll have Terry take inventory and send him the bill."

Lillian was speechless. She could imagine Martin's blood pressure skyrocketing when he received the bill from Jackson.

Jackson walked around the car, got into the driver's seat, and started the car. Lillian leaned against the window, a faint smile on her lips.

Jackson glanced at her. "Enjoying this?"

Though it wasn't right to feel this way about an elder, Lillian couldn't help it. She cleared her throat, suppressing her smile before turning to him. "And if I am?"

Martin had made her life difficult in the past. Seeing him suffer now, though impolite, felt quite satisfying to Lillian.

Jackson looked at her, his lips curling into a lazy smile. "As long as you're happy."

He was worried that Martin's overbearing attitude might affect Lillian's mood. Seeing that it hadn't, he was relieved.

Lillian stared at Jackson, her gaze unwavering. Jackson could feel it. After a moment, he spoke with a hint of helplessness. "Lillian, looking at me like that is dangerous."

He was finding it hard to drive straight, and he felt like she was tempting him to pull over and do something impulsive.

Lillian responded with a soft sound and turned her head to look out the window. But the next second, the car screeched to a halt by the roadside.

Lillian's neck, which had just turned, was suddenly held by Jackson's large hand, and her face was pulled back towards him. Jackson's kiss landed accurately on her slightly parted lips.

It was a gentle, teasing kiss, yet it carried a warm, wet intimacy. Lillian's eyelashes fluttered lightly. Jackson didn't linger, quickly pulling away from her lips.

His hand, however, remained warmly on her delicate neck as he spoke softly. "Don't let him get to you. You don't have to put up with him anymore. I want you back with me, without any more suffering because of me."

Lillian felt a warmth in her heart and nodded. "I know. I won't let him get to me anymore. If I end up making your dad really mad and he comes after you, don't be annoyed."

Jackson chuckled, his hand leaving her neck to ruffle her hair. "I won't be. I'll just go to Grandma and have her deal with her son."

Lillian laughed lightly. "That sounds like a good plan."

They shared a smile before Jackson started the car again. Lillian leaned back in her seat, her thoughts drifting back to the Price family.

Suddenly, she remembered something. "Oh, by the way, I had a colleague who said her mom is a plastic surgeon. She looked at Star's photo and said it looked like Star had some work done."

Lillian looked at Jackson. "Do you know if Star had any procedures recently?"

How would Jackson know that? Although he had people keeping an eye on Star and Dominic, it was only to report any unusual activities. Star going to a beauty clinic didn't count as unusual.

Whether Star was beautiful or not, or how she maintained herself, Jackson didn't care. "Why? Has Star gotten prettier recently?"

Jackson's grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly, his response cautious. He wondered if Star had indeed gotten some work done and if Lillian was testing him.
