Chapter 629
Star was fuming, her teeth clenched tight.
"How can you say I'm not hurt? Look at me!" she yelled, pointing to her bloodied face and the gash on her neck.
Why was Jackson acting like she was invisible? She was a mess, bleeding all over, and he didn't even notice. Instead, he was busy holding onto that psycho killer!
Lillian just got a few slaps and kicks.
If she was too weak, could she blame the Price family?
"Star, drop it. Looks like Mr. Frane's made up his mind to play favorites. So, there's nothing more to say. Let's just wait for the cops to come and nab Lillian. The law will sort it out for the Price family!" Dominic cut in, his voice cold and firm.
The sound of sirens was already echoing outside the Price family's door.
Dominic was cool as a cucumber, not even a bit rattled.
Jackson shot a look at Harry, who quickly took a couple of guys and headed out.
Dominic saw this and knew Harry was trying to pull some strings to keep the cops out.
But he didn't bother stopping him. He just looked at Jackson and said icily, "Lillian ran over Star for no reason. That's straight-up attempted murder. The cameras outside the Price Mansion caught everything. Loads of bodyguards and servants saw it too. Probably a bunch of neighbors did as well. Oh, and the car she used is still parked outside, so all the evidence is right there. It's a slam dunk, no way to deny it! She did all that, and you barged in with your crew, not only refusing to apologize but also hurting others and trying to get the cops to back off. Do you really think you run Miracalia?"
Jackson's muscles were tight, and his eyes showed a flicker of worry as things spiraled out of control.
The scene was too chaotic, and the evidence was rock solid.
Time was running out, and the Price family was too ready. Getting Lillian out of there seemed almost impossible.
But with Lillian's current state, even a day or two in lockup could wreck her.
Even if her body could take it, how could he?
He glared at Dominic, "Mr. Price, what will it take for you to let Lillian go?"
Dominic looked surprised and said, "Jackson, right here, Star knelt in front of you, crying and begging you to let Susan go. I even bowed and apologized, but did you let Susan go? She was dying of cancer, and you wouldn't even let her spend her last days in peace. Now, it's the same attempted murder, but the roles are flipped. Jackson, how do you think I should show you mercy?"
Star was crying too, "Jackson, don't blame my dad for being tough. My parents had a lifetime of love. After my mom passed away, we still haven't gotten over it. Even though we feel for Lillian losing her baby, we can't forgive what she did today."
Star and Dominic were rock solid in their stance.
Jackson, though, just sneered at Dominic, "Mr. Price, you're a businessman. You should know there's no deal that can't be made, only terms that can't be agreed upon."
If Dominic really had no hidden agenda, he wouldn't have let Harry take people out to stop the cops from coming in.
At that moment, Lillian opened her eyes with all her strength and grabbed Jackson's shirt.
"Jackson, let me go to jail! If you won't avenge Taylor, I will. I only regret that I'm not strong enough. I'll take the fall for what I did. Let me go to jail! It was the Price family who ordered Bob! I just want you to get justice for Taylor!"
Lillian had already braced herself for the worst when she came.
She didn't want Jackson to protect her or cut any deals with the Price family. She was ready to face the danger.
But she couldn't get why, even now, Jackson hadn't said a word about the Price family ordering Bob to hurt Taylor.
