Chapter 590

On the flip side, over at Nimbus City Villa...

The second Jackson heard Bob's voice, his heart felt like it got squeezed into a tight knot.

Bob's voice was like it came straight from the pits of hell.

"Bob!"

But there was nothing but dead air on the other end. The call dropped, and everything went eerily quiet, except for Jackson's pounding heart.

"Jackson! Where are you going?"

Jackson yanked open the car door, and Star tried to grab him.

With a rough shove, Jackson sent Star sprawling onto the rain-soaked ground, her umbrella rolling away and getting snatched by the wind.

She didn't get up, just lay there as cold water splashed her face from the car wheels.

Opening her eyes, she saw the Bentley's taillights flash and vanish into the rain, while the three bodyguards Jackson left to watch over Wendy exchanged looks.

The head honcho told one to stay put and took the other to jump in the car and chase after Jackson.

"Ms. Price, please get up."

The Price family servant came over with an umbrella, bending down to help Star up.

Star shook off the servant's hand and stood up on her own. When the servant tried to show concern, she saw Star's profile and her voice cut off.

She thought Star would be all sad and helpless after being ditched, but Star's face was ice-cold.

The red lights of the ambulance flashed across her eyes, making her look kinda fierce.

Jackson got the call that Lillian had been rescued and sent to the hospital while he was tearing down the mountain.

The car sped through the rain like a bat outta hell, racing towards the hospital.

Half an hour later, Jackson pulled up at the hospital, but it was already too late. Lillian had been in the operating room for almost ten minutes.

Outside the operating room, the Kelly family was still there.

Ambrose was trying to get Flora and Oberon to go home, but Flora wasn't having it, so Oberon stayed with her.

Jackson, soaked to the bone, rushed to the front of the operating room, where Terry was already posted up with his crew.

"Mr. Frane, Mrs. Frane's been in there for eight minutes. It's not looking good; she was bleeding bad when she went in. Mr. Kelly signed the surgery consent form."

"Also, Eulalia and Luke have been sent to the operating room, too."

Terry quickly filled him in and handed Jackson a towel from a nearby bodyguard.

Jackson didn't take the towel and turned to look at the waiting area.

There, Oberon and Flora sat on chairs, and Ambrose was squatting on the ground, handing a cup of hot water to Flora.

Jackson's eyes locked on the three of them.

Blood, they were all covered in blood.

He knew it was Lillian's blood.

So bright, so red.

Her tiny, frail body, how could it bleed so much?

Jackson's handsome face was as pale as if it had just been pulled from a freezer.

He almost robotically turned and walked towards the Kelly family.

Ambrose stood up, his eyes sharp, blocking Jackson's path, and said in a deep voice, "Mr. Frane, you seem real busy. The Frane Mansion and Star Group aren't far from here, yet you showed up late."

He arrived later than both the secretary and the bodyguard, which was something Ambrose had not anticipated.

His simple words made Jackson stop in his tracks.

Jackson didn't say much, just bowed deeply to the Kelly family.

He straightened up, his voice rough.

"I am deeply grateful for your timely assistance in getting Lilian to the hospital."

Ambrose raised an eyebrow slightly and said coldly, "I didn't save Lillian for your sake, so there's no need to thank me."
