Chapter 577
Jackson shot her a look and said, "For you, divorce is the end. For me, it's a fresh start! I can give you the kind of love everyone dreams about!"
He'd said it before; he wasn't backing down!
Lillian turned to stare out the window, staying quiet, but her mind was racing. She couldn't help but wonder what it'd be like if he really tried to win a woman's heart.
Would he write love letters and sweet talk like regular guys, be at her beck and call, stay up all night watching TV and chatting, doing all those little things together?
When Jackson and Lillian got to the restaurant's private room, the Kelly family was already there.
Flora had been waiting eagerly, and only Oberon's constant coaxing kept her from running out to the street to wait.
Seeing Lillian, Flora lit up like a kid, looking super pure.
"Ophelia, sit here!"
Flora jumped up, pulled Lillian to the empty seat next to her, and excitedly started talking about all the yummy food they'd ordered.
On Flora's other side was Oberon, and on Lillian's other side was Ambrose, with Anouk next to him.
If Jackson wanted to sit, he'd have to squeeze in between Anouk and Oberon.
The seating was clearly set up to keep him away from Lillian.
Jackson didn't sit but went straight to Ambrose's seat.
"Mr. Kelly, can we switch seats? Lillian's pregnant, and I want to take care of her."
Ambrose didn't even look up. He just leaned over to fill Lillian's water cup and said, "Taking care of her is no big deal. No need to switch seats and make a fuss. Mr. Frane, please sit."
Jackson glanced at Lillian, who seemed totally chill, chatting warmly with Flora, not caring who was next to her.
Was she trying to tick him off by ignoring him?
Lillian casually picked up the cup of water Ambrose had just poured and took a sip.
Jackson stepped forward, pulled out a chair, and sat down between Anouk and Oberon.
This spot was right across from Lillian.
As soon as Jackson sat down, his cold gaze locked onto Lillian, making it impossible for her to pretend not to notice.
Lillian avoided looking his way.
But Anouk suddenly chuckled and said, "Mr. Frane and Mrs. Frane must have a great relationship, just like grandparents."
She raised her voice a bit. In the private room, only Lillian was softly chatting with Flora.
At that moment, everyone couldn't help but look at Jackson, even Flora paused and looked over.
Jackson stayed calm, still staring at Lillian, his gaze even more intense.
Lillian followed everyone's gaze and looked over, meeting his eyes.
Jackson smiled and said, "Mr. Oberon Kelly and Mrs. Flora Kelly's relationship is something to envy. Mr. Oberon Kelly treats his wife so well; he's my role model. I'll learn from him."
His words sounded like a public love declaration.
Lillian's cheeks turned red, and she quickly looked away.
Anouk smiled and said, "Ambrose, did you see that? Mr. Frane and Mrs. Frane are so affectionate even across the table. Why don't you switch seats with Mr. Frane?"
Anouk's words were aimed at Ambrose, but her eyes were on Lillian.
Her gaze was scrutinizing, not understanding what charm Lillian had that made Jackson chase her so relentlessly, and even Ambrose, who never showed interest in women, treated her so specially.
And Flora, upon seeing Lillian, completely ignored Anouk's presence.
Maybe it was an innate dislike. Even though Lillian had helped her before, Anouk still didn't like Lillian, feeling a vague sense of threat.
