Chapter 156 Jackson Protected Wendy
"Wait a minute. Why can't I post comments? It seems like the hot search has been removed." Shirley refreshed the page again. Not only was the hot search removed, But all the comments on related news posts were gone.
This was impressive.
"Is this Jackson's doing?" Shirley asked.
Lillian nodded and said, "Probably."
Only Jackson could remove it completely like this.
Shirley asked, "What does Jackson mean? Is he not afraid that Wendy will be mad?"
Lillian just smiled faintly, not surprised at all. "Jackson has never liked being in the spotlight. Just because he removed the hot search doesn't mean he's on bad terms with Wendy. We haven't officially divorced yet. Maybe he just doesn't want Wendy to be exposed too early and be labeled as a homewrecker."
Her analysis was spot on, showing no sadness or sorrow. For a moment, Shirley didn't know what emotion to treat Lillian with, feeling happy for her or sorry for her?
Shirley just felt very pity for her.
She waved her hand and said, "Let's not talk about them. I'll go check out the news about you and Kevin. Would Jackson remove your hot search too?"
The hot search for Lillian and Kevin remained active, with their popularity continuing to rise in the rankings.
Lillian's gaze shifted, her eyes momentarily tranquil. ‘Since Jackson removed Wendy's hot search, he must have known that I and Kevin are trending. By ignoring it, he has let go and no longer saw me as his wife. It’s great.’
"Lilian? What are you thinking? Did you hear what I said?" Shirley's voice brought Lillian back from her thoughts. "I'm telling you, the haters are everywhere. They mock you for having no fame, saying you're not worthy of Kevin."
Looking at Shirley's face turning red with anger, Lillian chuckled and ruffled her hair. "You're silly. Kevin and I are not a couple. Whether we are worthy or not is meaningless. Why bother with what they say?"
"But still! I can't stand anyone saying bad things about you. There's even someone pretending to know about dance, saying that Alice is a treasure-level figure that even domestic dancers find hard to meet." Excitedly, Shirley pulled Lillian along. "Aren't you supposed to pick up Alice at the airport this afternoon? Let's get ready and show those haters who's boss."
This time, Alice would visit the U.S. with her world-renowned ballet troupe for a tour, but not in New York. She would only stay in New York for half a day to meet a few domestic dancers for a brief exchange.
Despite the tight schedule, she was willing to interview Lillian during her break.
Lillian had already arranged with Alice's assistant, Anna, to pick up her and accompany her back to the hotel.
As she picked up the flowers she had ordered and was near the airport, Kevin called.
"Lillian, I just finished a three-hour training session in the simulator and found out about the hot search. I've asked my assistant to have it removed. Are you okay?" said Kevin on the phone.
"I'm fine. But Kevin, how can an athlete like you end up in a hot search like a celebrity?" Lillian hadn't expected that watching a race with him would lead to a hot search.
"It's unavoidable. Being too good-looking always overshadows talent, it's such a headache." Kevin smiled.
Lillian chuckled. "You don't have to worry about me being in the hot search. It doesn't matter to me whether it's removed or not."
After all, removing a hot search would cost money, and Lillian didn't want Kevin to spend money and effort because of her.
Kevin sensed something different. "Lillian, are you going to divorce Jackson?"
Lillian didn't hide it from him. "Yes. Keep it between us for now. I have something to take care of, I'll hang up."
The airport pickup went smoothly, and Alice turned out to be different from what Lillian had imagined. She was not aloof at all, but rather easygoing and even a bit naive and romantic.
On the way back to the hotel, Lillian played the role of a tour guide, introducing Alice to many famous sights and local customs of New York.
Alice and she had a great conversation, and when they arrived at the hotel, Alice insisted on having Lillian stay by her side.
However, Lillian never expected to run into Jackson and Wendy at the door of Alice's room.
