Chapter 312 Nag
Lillian watched Wendy's back, and the calm and ease between her brows were replaced by fear and panic.
She thought to herself, 'No, I can't believe Wendy. She deliberately sowed discord. I have already believed her once and was completely deceived. If I foolishly believe her again and doubt Jackson without reason, won't I fall into her trap? How dare Wendy say that Jackson has been looking for that woman for sixteen years. Doesn't she know how to do math? How old was Jackson sixteen years ago?'
Lillian walked back to the hospital with a heavy heart. As she exited the elevator, she saw Terry coming over to place a food order. She asked, "Terry, where are you ordering food from? Serenity Haven Manor is close by. How about I prepare some food?"
Terry quickly replied, "I've already asked Tina to prepare it. I'll just go to the Peace Mansion to pick it up. Mrs. Frane, you're pregnant now. If I tire you out, Mr. Frane will kill me!"
Lillian smiled and asked, "Has Jackson been to Serenity Haven Manor recently?"
"No, Mrs. Frane, why do you ask?" Terry replied.
"Just a casual question. You go ahead," Lillian said.
Lillian had been watching Terry's expression closely. When she mentioned Serenity Haven Manor, there wasn't the slightest change in Terry's face.
She thought, 'Terry is Jackson's secretary. If Jackson is keeping a woman at Serenity Haven Manor, how could he not know? It was indeed Wendy talking nonsense again! Ridiculous!'
Since she had decided to reconcile with Jackson, she didn't want to doubt him easily. If a couple didn't trust each other from the beginning, it would be hard to go on.
Lillian took a deep breath and opened her palm.
In her palm were a few strands of hair that she had just pulled from Wendy's head.
She wrapped the strands around her finger, put them in her pocket, and quickly walked towards the ward.
In the ward.
When Lillian pushed the door open, she saw Jackson sitting on the bed, holding a document.
Lillian quickly walked over and snatched the document from his hand.
Jackson thought it was a bodyguard. He looked up with displeasure in his eyes.
Lillian held the document, standing there with a frown and looking displeased. "Curtis said you need to rest well. You've lost a lot of blood, and sleeping will help your body recover. Don't you know that? Can't Star Group function without you?"
Jackson watched her nag away. The coldness on his face gradually faded, and a hint of nostalgia flashed in his eyes.
Some long-lost scenes came to mind.
"Jackson, you can't sleep without drying your hair. I'm telling you, you'll get headaches when you're older if you do that. Get up!"
"Jackson, why are you unhappy again? You need to smile more. You should smile like me without showing teeth. You're so good-looking, and it's a pity not to smile!"
And many more.
Young Lillian loved to boss him around, always nagging.
She was very warm, like a little sun, a ray of light in his cold and dull life.
Later, he went abroad, and they contacted each other less.
When he came back, Lillian had grown up, become mature and steady, and was much more distant from him.
She was quiet and reserved in front of him, with many girlish thoughts, and didn't like to talk to him anymore.
No, she had found someone else to confide in.
And now, looking at Lillian, Jackson saw a glimpse of her childhood self.
He slightly smiled, beckoned with his hand, and said, "Come closer."
Lillian put the document on the bedside table, walked closer, and bent down, asking, "What is it?"
The next second, she was pulled into Jackson's arms.
"What are you doing? Watch your wound!" Lillian lifted her head from Jackson's embrace and glared at him.
He leaned back, his cold eyes close to hers, reflecting her small face. He slightly pressed his thin lips and said, "Do you want to boss me around?"
His teasing gaze made Lillian's face flush.
She bit her red lip slightly and retorted, "Can't I?"
