Chapter 338 Pain in Her Belly

Lillian stared at the screen, emotions churning in her eyes.

"Aren't you going to answer? It's your husband's calling. However, perhaps he won't be your husband soon. Maybe he called you just to clarify things with you and introduce you to Star. Just thinking about that scenario makes it seem very interesting." Across from Lillian, Wendy saw her phone and smirked.

Seeing Lillian froze there and didn't answer, Wendy stood up and said, "Are you too scared to answer? Let me help you."

Wendy reached out to grab the phone.

Lillian snatched the phone away with one hand, forcefully turned it off, and used the other hand to pick up the coffee cup on the table and splashed it at Wendy.

Wendy screamed and was covered in coffee, looking extremely messy.

She hurriedly grabbed some napkins to wipe herself, glaring at Lillian viciously and saying, "Lillian, have you lost your mind?"

Lillian had long wanted to shut Wendy up.

She picked up her bag, stood up, and looked at Wendy coldly, saying, "You brought this on yourself. Not splashing you would be a disservice to your wretched face."

Wendy snorted, "I was just trying to be kind and let you know the truth. Don't be ungrateful and bite the hand that feeds you! If you have the guts, go find Star. Lillian, do you dare?"

Lillian sneered and said, "I really appreciate your kindness. Don't worry. I'll verify every word you said."

With that, Lillian turned and walked away.

But behind her came Wendy's mocking voice again. "There is one more kind tip. Henry has a nickname, Leo, and Star's nickname is Lilian."

Seeing Lillian tense up noticeably, Wendy knew she had hit Lillian's sore spot.

She chuckled, but the next second, the sticky coffee seemed to get into her eyes, making it hard to open them.

Wendy cursed.

Lillian rushed out of the café, her forced calmness shattering instantly.

She felt like her world was collapsing, crumbling into pieces she no longer recognized.

Those precious and warm moments with Jackson in her memory all turned into honey-coated blades, torturing her.

Lillian walked very fast as if a demon was chasing her.

It wasn't until the sharp sound of a car horn rang in her ears that Lillian suddenly snapped back to reality.

She turned her head and saw a car screeching to a halt right in front of her.

Only then did Lillian realize she had unknowingly walked into the street.

Her legs went weak, and she fell to the ground.

A sharp pain immediately followed in her belly.

Lillian felt scared and clutched her belly.

She thought, 'Taylor, don't scare Mommy! You can't be in trouble!'

Inside the car.

"What happened? Ambrose, did you hit someone?" Nathan, sitting in the back seat with a baseball cap on, said to Ambrose, who was driving.

"Why isn't she getting up? Did you really hit her? I'll go check," Nathan continued, reaching for the door handle but couldn't open it.

"Ambrose, I know you're emotionless, but I didn't think you were this heartless. That's too much!" Nathan shouted.

Ambrose, the handsome driver, unbuckled his seatbelt and said indifferently, "I'll go. Don't think about using this as a chance to escape."

Ambrose opened the car door and got out, walking around to the front of the car and seeing Lillian still sitting on the ground.

She was clutching her abdomen, her long hair disheveled, and her shoulders trembling.

Ambrose's eyes were cold as he said, "You carried a bag worth tens of thousands to scam people? Scamming is indeed the fastest way to make money."

At that moment, Lillian's pale hand suddenly grabbed tightly onto Ambrose's suit pants.

Ambrose lifted his foot, about to shake Lillian off.

Lillian looked up, revealing a delicate and tear-streaked face.

Lillian's expression was pained. Her eyes were filled with panic, and her forehead and neck were covered in cold sweat.

Her hair was soaked with sweat, making it look less like an act.

She looked truly pitiful.

"It hurts so much. Please save my child." Lillian begged Ambrose.

Lillian's vision blurred, and she almost fainted.
