Chapter 379 Uncomfortable

Jackson's face was sullen, but he lowered his head and kissed her slightly damp hair, asking, "What nightmares did you have?"

Lillian didn't want to tell him. Instead, she asked, "When did you come back? Did you find out everything?"

Jackson's embrace around Lillian's waist tightened slightly, and his eyes grew even darker.

Lillian's terrified expression and reaction in her sleep just now made him distressed and felt all too familiar.

When Lillian was a child, she often had nightmares.

Every time Jackson woke her up, she would crawl into his arms. Without him asking, she chattered away about her dreams.

Back then, Lillian said that telling him about her nightmares would make her less afraid. In reality, she just wanted to stay in his arms longer.

But now, Lillian's reaction was completely different. She was becoming distant to him.

A shadow passed over Jackson's eyes. He swallowed hard, suppressing his displeasure before telling her what he had found out and the results.

Jackson elaborated, "You won't see Tina again. As for my mother, the bodyguards are watching her, so she won't be able to bother you anymore."

His words somewhat moved Lillian.

Tina was a problem, but she hadn't expected Jackson to have bodyguards constantly watching Daisy.

After all, Daisy was his mother, the mistress of the Frane family. She was used to a life of luxury and had a high opinion of herself.

Being followed and monitored by two bodyguards all day would feel like being in prison, and it would be uncomfortable and humiliating for Daisy.

Lillian hadn't expected Jackson to go this far.

Her eyes welled up with tears, and she bit her lip tightly to keep herself clear-headed, not to be swayed by his actions again.

Lillian thought, 'Taylor is Jackson's child. He probably did this for her. It is what he should do. However, he mentioned Tina and Daisy but didn't say a word about Wendy.'

"What about Wendy?" Lillian questioned.

Wendy was pregnant with Henry's child, and Henry was Star's brother.

Lillian wondered if he would still protect Wendy even though he had punished Daisy severely.

She held her breath slightly and slipped her hand under her clothes to rest on her belly.

She thought, 'Wendy was the real culprit.

Taylor is safe this time, but how can Jackson guarantee it next time? Wendy keeps causing trouble. Relying on the child of the Price family in her belly, she knows Jackson won't punish her severely. If Jackson shows leniency to her again, I will be truly heartbroken.'

"The Sivans won't be able to get any help for their investment," Jackson replied coldly.

With the investment stopped, the Sivan family would go completely bankrupt.

Wendy always valued her status as the heir to the Sivan family, thinking of herself as superior.

If the Sivan family went bankrupt, it would be a massive blow to Wendy.

Taylor was safe, after all. Jackson's actions clearly showed that he was siding with Lillian and Taylor.

Lillian felt she should be satisfied, but for some reason, she still felt uncomfortable.

Perhaps it was because, compared to driving Tina's family out of Miracalia and directly restricting Daisy's freedom, Jackson was still holding back when it came to Wendy.

"Jackson, you're not hurting Wendy, only targeting the Sivan family. You're still thinking about the child in Wendy's belly, right?" Lillian asked softly.

Jackson fell silent for a moment and then said, "Lillian, Henry's child, cannot be harmed."

Lillian felt disappointed, thinking, 'Does the Price family weigh more on his heart than his mother? If Henry's child is that important, then Star is even more.'

Jackson hadn't heard Lillian speak for a while and looked down at her, asking, "Why did you suddenly stop talking?"
