Chapter 680
Lillian shot Jenny a mocking look. "Jenny, have you lost your mind?"
Jenny's eyes flared with anger. She pointed at Lillian, her face twisted with disdain. "Cut the act. You only married Jackson by sneaking into his bed. Once you got knocked up, you forced him into a wedding. Jackson hates you so much he didn't even show up in the wedding and instead took off to Star. Besides, you threw a fit every day, causing chaos in the Frane household. In the end, you lost the baby, and Jackson finally had enough and divorced you."
Jenny was twisting the truth. She'd always been in Lillian's shadow because Jackson preferred Lillian.
But now that Lillian was divorced and working as an assistant to a male celebrity, Jenny felt she had nothing to fear.
The Frane Family was always low-key, and not many outsiders knew their business.
Lillian wasn't one to flaunt herself or socialize much, so few people had seen her before.
But rumors were plenty. Hearing Jenny's words, everyone immediately believed her and looked at Lillian with disdain, whispering among themselves.
"So that's Lillian? She does have a certain charm."
"Being good-looking doesn't mean she can aim too high. In the end, it's all for nothing."
"How does she dare to show up here? You didn't attend Jackson's wedding, right? My cousin was invited, and he said Jackson didn't show up at all. Turns out he went to pick up Star."
The small-time actress standing next to Star immediately looked at Star ingratiatingly. "So Ms. Price, you're Mr. Frane's true love. Since you and Ms. Frane are so close, does that mean you and Mr. Frane are about to get married?"
Another actress chimed in, "Of course, Ms. Frane clearly already sees Ms. Price as her sister-in-law."
Star, flattered by the teasing, felt elated and even started to believe that day was coming soon. She stepped forward, showing a gentle smile to Lillian. "Lillian, why are you back in Miracalia? Are you short on money? Bring me my bag."
Star sighed and tilted her head to signal.
Immediately, someone brought over Star's Hermès Birkin bag and said, "Ms. Price, isn't this the limited edition from this fall that was on the magazine cover? It must have cost a lot. Only a bag like this suits you."
Another small-time celebrity chimed in, "Could it be that Mr. Frane gave it to you?"
Star hadn't seen Jackson at all in the past four months. She had spent the first three months bedridden, recovering from broken ribs. When she finally wanted to make her presence known to Jackson, he had blocked her.
Terry's phone was always unreachable, and she hadn't seen him once. But she absolutely couldn't let Lillian know any of this.
She took the bag and smiled faintly, with a shy and sweet expression, ambiguously saying, "It's just an ordinary bag, nothing as exaggerated as you say."
She opened the bag and took out a bank card, handing it to Lillian. "Lillian, I have some money here. You can take it. Stop being an assistant to a male celebrity; that job is too complicated for you. Take this money and go to a small city to start over. People there don't know you. You're so beautiful; some wealthy man will be willing to marry you. It may not be as powerful and wealthy as the Frane Family, but you'll still live comfortably."
The women around Star remarked, "Ms. Price is so generous and kind."
"With her looks, she can't be a proper assistant. Ms. Price is really looking out for her."
Lillian crossed her arms, coldly looking at Star holding the bank card. She raised an eyebrow and sneered at Jenny and Star. "You two putting on a free play here?"
Shirley laughed along. "Quite right. And it's a live improv show. Really interesting, even the extras are so dedicated. Bravo."
Shirley even started clapping.
Star's and Jenny's faces turned livid. Bianca couldn't stand Shirley's arrogance and immediately shouted angrily, "An unknown actress about to be kicked out of the entertainment industry, and an assistant to a male celebrity. Don't think that fooling Lucy for a few words means you can come here and cause trouble! Call the manager right now and have security throw these two crazy women out!"
The person next to Bianca immediately said, "Ms. Porter, I've already called. They should be here any minute."
Sarah shouted piteously, "Ms. Porter, help me!"
Over there, Lucy was busy dealing with the real mistress, Sarah.
Lucy's bodyguard had Sarah kneeling by the sofa, and Lucy slapped her until her mouth was full of blood, then dragged her by the hair.
Sarah, bruised and in pain, held her stomach and cried for help.
Bianca quickly went over, stopping Lucy and pointing at Lillian and Shirley. "Lucy, you must have been fooled by these two. You heard them just now; they're not good people. Our families are so close; how could I lie to you? Sarah has a boyfriend, and the baby is his. I know her boyfriend too. If you don't believe me, I'll call him right now to confront you. You're really mistaken."
Bianca took out her phone, really about to make a call. She had plenty of male celebrities who could read the room and adapt. She could easily call one over to put on a show and fool Lucy.
Unexpectedly, before Bianca could finish her sentence, Lucy slapped the phone out of her hand.
Bianca was stunned, and Lucy sneered, "Do you really think I'm an idiot? Get out of my way! I'm taking this little bitch to get an abortion today."
If Lucy hadn't seen the live surveillance footage herself, she might have been fooled by Bianca's fake sincerity.
Seeing that she was really going to be taken away, Sarah desperately clung to Bianca's leg.
Lucy ordered the bodyguard to drag her away, but Sarah wouldn't let go of Bianca.
The room was in chaos when the manager arrived with security.
Bianca immediately ordered, "John, can't you see there's trouble here? Get them all out right now! Or you can say goodbye to your job!"
Bianca pointed at Lillian, Shirley, Lucy, and Lucy's bodyguards.
John was unsure of the situation and didn't want to offend anyone. He was thinking it over.
Star and Bianca's followers started chattering, "What are you waiting for? This is Ms. Price, Ms. Porter, and Ms. Frane!"
"The club's owner is Mike. He's good friends with Mr. Frane and Mr. Flores. Don't you know Ms. Price is about to marry Mr. Frane, and Ms. Porter is going to marry Mr. Flores?"
"If you offend them, how will you survive here?"
"They don't even have membership here. Who knows how they got in. Don't hesitate; Get them out of here!"
John had been thinking of going upstairs to ask Jackson and Mike, but hearing their confident words and constant urging, he couldn't take the pressure.
Hearing that Lillian and her group had snuck in, he felt justified in kicking them out. He signaled the security guards.
The security guards moved forward, ready to escort Lillian and Shirley out.
Bianca and her group looked smug, waiting for Lillian and Shirley to be thrown out in disgrace.
Bianca had already planned to contact the nearby media reporters to catch Shirley in the act.
However, Lillian and Shirley showed no signs of panic.
Lillian couldn't have snuck in; she had entered openly with Ambrose's premium membership card, along with her bodyguards.
The Porter Family's bodyguards stood aside, and Bianca's group thought they were with Lucy.
Seeing Lillian surrounded, the bodyguards were about to step in, but before they could, a cold, deep voice rang out. "Who dares to touch her?"
