Chapter 628
Star was totally freaked out by what just went down.
She had just gone off on Lillian, kicking her a bunch of times.
Without thinking, she bolted towards Dominic, but Jackson snagged her ankle.
Star almost face-planted, smacking her forehead and getting all woozy, couldn't even scream.
"Jackson! This is the Price Mansion, you're way outta line!"
Dominic lost it, and the Price family's bodyguards stepped up, while Jackson's crew jumped in too.
The living room was about to explode.
Then, the sound of sirens blaring from a distance grew closer outside.
Jackson clenched his fist, then chilled out, holding Lillian's frail body even tighter.
Dominic was watching him like a hawk, eyes cold, barking orders, "Get Star up and call a doc, now!"
The servants finally snapped out of it and rushed to help Star.
Star had a huge bump on her forehead, blood running down, covering half her face.
She winced in pain as they helped her to the couch, looking a mess.
But hearing the sirens outside, she felt it was all worth it.
She felt a wave of relief because, no matter what, Lillian's attempted murder charge was locked in, and there was no way for Lillian to dodge it!
Thinking about Lillian heading to prison, Star felt like Mrs. Frane's spot was hers for the taking.
How could she not be stoked?
She let the servants press on her wound, tears streaming down her face.
"Jackson, Lillian's a killer. She almost took me out just now. If it weren't for our quick bodyguards, I'd be dead. How can you still stand by her..."
Before Star could finish, Jackson lifted Lillian off the ground and turned to look at her.
"Don't you know why Lillian wanted to come at you?"
Hearing Jackson's words, Star's tears fell even harder. Her eyes were full of confusion and shock.
"How would I know? She called me saying she wanted to talk. I didn't waste any time and let her in. I even had the servants set up snacks for her. I thought she must be super sad after losing her baby and was thinking about how to comfort her. I never expected her to just go off on me without a word!"
Star clutched her chest, looking all scared, and pointed to the table.
Sure enough, there were fruits and stuff on the coffee table. Star wiped her tears and kept going, "She didn't get me the first time and wanted another shot. Even after being stopped, she was dead set on killing me in the living room. Jackson, look at the marks on my neck—they're from her!"
Star tilted her head, showing the marks on her neck, and then started coughing again.
After hearing this, Jackson didn't react much. He just held Lillian tighter, his eyes dark and lips curling slightly. "Well, you must have a strong will to live!"
Star's face froze, totally shocked.
"Jackson! What do you mean by that?" Dominic slammed the teacup onto the table.
Jackson looked at him coldly and said, "Using Lillian's overwhelming grief and desire for revenge, baiting her into committing a crime to get rid of her, isn't that your plan? If you weren't ready for this, would Star be sitting here unharmed? This house full of bodyguards and servants, isn't it a bit much for dealing with her?"
