Chapter 8 Taking Medication

Lillian didn't know how to respond to Jackson's questioning.

For the past four years, their sex life had been few and far between.

Deep down, Lillian had also longed for a child, but Jackson's attitude towards children left her frustrated. She had always perceived that Jackson harbored resentment towards her. Initially, Jackson betrayed his girlfriend who he was deeply in love with, because he had to married Lillian to salvage his reputation.

In her lifetime. Lillian would never forget the name of Jackson’s ex-girlfriend, Wendy Sivan. She stole the life that should have belonged to Lillian!

Faced with Jackson's cold gaze, Lillian stood up, wanting to give him a sweet hug.

But it made no effect. He turned around, angrily slammed the door, and left.

After Lillian tidied up the mess in the room, Tina, the maid of the Frane family, came to Lillian with a glass of water and a small white pill bottle.

"What's this?" Lillian asked.

Tina, who usually got along well with her, looked troubled at the moment.

"This is what Mr. Frane ordered, so I can only follow his instructions," Tina replied.

Lillian then noticed the information on the pill bottle, which indicated that it was emergency contraceptive, a highly effective but extremely harmful drug for women's bodies.

"Mrs. Frane, please don't make it difficult for me," Tina said with a trembling voice.

Tina was normally kind and gentle and greeted Lillian every morning, actually succumbing to Jackson's coercion and doing such an unreasonable thing. Lillian felt extremely desperate in her heart and became more certain that since Jackson took control of the group, no one dared to criticize him. She began to worry about her future with the Frane family.

Lillian drank water and swallowed two pills. Tina, however, did not leave.

"Is there anything else?" Lillian asked.

Tina took a silver spoon from her apron and put it into Lillian's mouth. "Mrs. Frane, I'm sorry."

The silver spoon flipped up and down in Lillian's mouth, quickly flipping out the two pills Lillian had tucked under her tongue. Tina remained silent, just refilled the glass of water and handed it to her.

Lillian's eyes sharpened, and she realized that taking the medication was inevitable. So she swallowed the pills directly.

After confirming that Lillian had ingested the pill, Tina withdrew from the room

Feeling a great sense of shame and anger, Lillian smashed the glass used for taking the medication, glass shards flying and cutting her foot, blood slowly seeping out.

The heartache completely overshadowed the physical pain. Lillian did not tend to the wound but walked outside.

She walked dazedly in the Frane Mansion, leaving a trail of bloody footprints. Her mind couldn't think, but her subconscious drove her to Daisy's door. The plan had failed, and she should have reported to Daisy. But she accidentally overheard a secret.
