Chapter 218 The Posture of Possession

Barry was uneasy and followed to witness the scene unfold.

He raised his hand to pull Lillian into his arms, gripping Heroic's wrist with one hand, twisting it, and then forcefully pushing him out.

Heroic stumbled and fell to the ground with a loud thud.

"Are you okay?" Barry held Lillian's shoulders, looking at her with concern.

Lillian felt a sudden gust of wind on her face. Her complexion paled, and she shook her head at Barry. However, Lillian's gaze involuntarily paused as Jackson approached from a distance.

Jackson, with his handsome and aloof demeanor, walked gracefully as always. Beside him was a delicate figure, Wendy.

Seeing the two of them approaching side by side, Lillian curled her fingers.

"Mary, why did you come here to cause trouble?" W Wendy approached Mary with a mix of disapproval and concern, grabbing her arm.

Mary, as if seeing her daughter, burst into tears as she held Wendy.

Mary said, " Wendy, please help me understand. Lillian wants to take Max abroad, without considering my feelings. I'm left alone here. How am I supposed to accept it?"

"Don't cry. You may have misunderstood Lillian. She respects you and wouldn't intentionally ignore you." Wendy comforted Mary, subtly alluding to Lillian.

Jackson's gaze never lingered on unnecessary people as he walked directly to Lillian and Barry.

His gaze fixated on Barry's right hand resting on Lillian's shoulder, a cold intensity in his eyes and a faint smile playing on his lips.

He said coldly, "Dr. Hall, you are so warm."

Barry did not move his hand, calmly responding to Jackson, "Mr. Frane, you flatter me."

Observing Lillian allowing Barry to hold her, Jackson reached out and took her wrist, pulling her to his side.

Speaking gently, he said, "You should call me when something happens. Dr. Hall is a stranger; it's not good to constantly rely on him."

Lillian found his words confusing.

They were already divorced, so wasn't Jackson a stranger to her? Why should she reach out to him about her affairs, especially when he brought Wendy along and appeared to be more focused on her and Mary?

Lillian had thought that the day's events were connected to Wendy, so why would she have called Jackson to come and assist Wendy?

Lillian withdrew her hand and said, "Is Star Group bankrupt? Mr. Frane, you seem so free."

Jackson didn't press Lillian further and let her go.

However, the next moment, Jackson raised his hand and patted Lillian's shoulder twice.

The spot he patted was the same spot where Barry's hand had been. His actions appeared tainted, as if by something impure. After the two pats, his hand remained there, a gesture of ownership.

Lillian raised her eyebrows, frowning at him. Jackson retorted, "What nonsense are you talking about? I still support you through Star Group. It won't go bankrupt."

Lillian widened her eyes.

It was him talking nonsense. They were already divorced. He should supported Wendy, not her.

“We have already..." Lillian tried to interject, but Jackson cut her off, turning to Barry and stating, "Dr. Hall, you have already resigned from the hospital, so you are no longer a doctor here. These are our family matters. Please step aside and allow us to address and resolve them on our own. Thank you for earlier.”
