Chapter 270 Chasing His Wife to the Airport
Jackson's heart was filled with anger and overwhelming sorrow, casting a shadow of gloom and cold menace.
Even Shirley, usually so bold, burst out cold sweats, her face turning pale.
"Jackson, it must have been all Lillian's idea. Shirley was just following her lead. You can't blame her entirely," Gray said as he worried that Jackson might crush Shirley in his rage. He stepped forward to shield her slightly and tried to persuade Jackson.
But Shirley was not grateful. She feared Jackson would vent all his anger on Lillian. She pushed Gray aside and said, "Lillian is pregnant but didn't dare to tell you. Why is that? Shouldn't you reflect on yourself? Who says it was all Lillian's idea? I also..."
Before she could finish, Gray covered her mouth.
However, Jackson had no time to argue with Shirley. He had already stormed out of the private room, his back radiating fury.
Shirley anxiously pushed Gray away and yelled, "Let go of me! Who told you to put all the blame on Lillian?"
"You're completely wrong! I'm helping you! It's a matter between husband and wife. Lillian is carrying Jackson's child. What can he do to her? You should protect yourself first. You fool!" Gray scolded her.
But Shirley was still worried. She quickly took out her phone to call Lillian. Gray, however, snatched the phone from her hand.
"What are you doing? Give it back to me!" Shirley exclaimed.
"No! I'm telling you, tattling is a grave offense!" Gray said.
Shirley furiously chased Gray around the private room.
At the airport, in the waiting lounge, Lillian bent over, held onto the wall, and retched into a trash can.
"Drink some water to ease it." Barry's gentle and concerned voice came from behind. He lightly patted Lillian's back and handed her an opened bottle of water.
Lillian looked up, and her face was pale. She took a sip of the water and said, "Thank you, Barry."
"Why was your morning sickness suddenly so severe? Was it like this before?" Barry asked. Seeing the sweat on Lillian's forehead, he was worried and frowned.
Lillian shook her head and replied with a forced smile, "I'm fine. I'm much better now. I should be boarding soon. You don't need to stay with me. Go ahead."
Barry helped her to a chair. After Lillian urged him twice more, he finally walked towards another waiting lounge.
Lillian sat there, her hand on her belly, her expression tinged with helplessness and sadness. "Taylor, do you know that Mommy is leaving Daddy? Are you sad for Mommy?"
Lillian had given the baby this nickname on the taxi ride back from the Frane House that day. She thought that from now on, the baby would be her only companion, her source of joy and strength.
Taylor was a very well-behaved baby, never causing her any trouble. Lillian had only experienced a few days of morning sickness at the beginning. Later, she seemed to understand and care for her.
During this period, Lillian had been working very hard for dance practice and making money. If Taylor hadn't been so well-behaved, she wouldn't have been able to accomplish so much.
However, for some reason, on the way to the airport, Lillian suddenly started feeling nauseous. It was as if Taylor knew Lillian was leaving.
"Taylor, don't you want me to leave?" Lillian whispered. The thought brought a wave of pain, sorrow, and bitterness to her heart.
As she sat there in a daze, a commotion erupted at the airport. People around her were exclaiming, "Oh my God, is this a celebrity or some big shot? So many bodyguards!"
"The man leading them is so handsome! His presence is incredible!"
Lillian instinctively looked up and followed their gaze, and then she was instantly shocked.
