Chapter 873

Jackson saw her smile and pulled her into a hug, playfully rubbing his nose against Lillian's.

"Baby, you're smiling now, so you can't stay mad at me anymore."

Lillian pushed his head away and pinched his cheek, "Jackson, seriously? How can you say stuff like that with that serious face of yours?"

Jackson raised his hand, gently grasping her slender wrist to free his face from her grip, and sighed softly.

"I had no choice. Is my face more important than my wife? I know what's more important now, baby. You should give me some credit."

Lillian felt her anger dissipate completely, leaving her feeling frustrated at how easily she was swayed.

She adjusted her expression and stared at Jackson.

"If you knew I'd be angry, you shouldn't have kept it from me! You knew how much pain and despair I was in, why didn't you tell me the truth?"

Thinking about it made Lillian's heart burn with anger, especially remembering the despair she felt when Jackson hid the truth from her.

Jackson held Lillian close, kissing her reddened eyelids, his voice hoarse.

"It was my fault. Your health was so poor at the time, and the doctor said you couldn't handle any more stress. I was afraid that telling you the truth—that Taylor was harmed by someone close to us, and that even after being harmed, Taylor's cord blood was taken by the perpetrator—would cause you even more pain. I didn't know how to tell you such a cruel truth."

Lillian closed her eyes briefly, "But you didn't tell me, I misunderstood that you were protecting Star and her father. Even when our Taylor was gone, I thought you were letting the murderer go despite having evidence. Do you know how much I hated you, how desperate and broken I felt?"

Only now did Lillian realize that Jackson had found evidence against Daisy, not Star and her father. She had thought he was protecting Star, which drove her to the brink of madness, wanting to kill Star.

But in reality, Jackson had hidden the truth, not because he was indifferent or protecting Star and her father, but because he hadn't found evidence against them.

Seeing Lillian's eyes filled with anger, Jackson's expression turned anxious.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I thought that since I couldn't save our Taylor, you already hated me enough. I thought it was better for you to misunderstand and hate me more than to know the brutal and bloody truth of how Taylor was killed."

Jackson had genuinely worried that she wouldn't be able to handle the harsh reality, so he chose to let her hate him more rather than tell her the truth.

Lillian punched Jackson's chest several times, her eyes red with anger.

"Jackson, do you think hiding the truth was good for me? Do you feel self-righteous about it? I failed to protect Taylor. I needed to know the truth! I needed to give my baby justice. You treated me like a fool, thinking it was for my good? And..."

Lillian's chest heaved, her voice choking up.

"And for me and Taylor, you were the most important person! You were my love, Taylor's father! When Taylor was hurt, you should have been the one to protect us, to fight for justice and truth for us. But you made me think you were on the same side as the murderer. The pain and despair you caused me were the most devastating!"

If Jackson had told her the truth back then, she might have been hysterical, but she wouldn't have felt the deep despair of being betrayed by the one she loved most.

Lillian's emotions surged, and she felt the urge to bite Jackson.

And she did. She lunged forward and bit Jackson's throat hard.

The taste of blood filled her mouth almost immediately, but Jackson remained still, even tilting his head slightly to make it easier for her to bite.

For the first time, Jackson heard her explain her feelings from back then, realizing how wrong his actions had been.

He gently patted Lillian's back, his voice filled with remorse.

"Lillian, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I shouldn't have hidden it from you. I didn't realize how much more it would hurt you."

Jackson's voice was hoarse and trembling, full of regret.

Lillian gradually calmed down, the taste of blood in her mouth reminding her of how hard she had bitten.

She slowly released her bite, seeing the deep, bloody mark on Jackson's throat.

No wonder her jaw hurt.

Still feeling unsatisfied, Lillian glared at Jackson.

Jackson raised his hand, gently wiping the blood from her lips.

"Do you want to bite somewhere else? I'll let you."

Lillian rolled her eyes. "Do you think I'm a vampire? You're all hard, it's not satisfying to bite. My tongue and jaw are numb!"

She complained.

Jackson smiled wryly.

"Let me check and massage it for you."

Jackson said, gently holding her chin and massaging her jaw with warm, even pressure.

Lillian sighed in relief as the tension in her jaw eased.

Jackson's hands moved to her cheeks, gently squeezing, forcing her to open her mouth.

He leaned in, his dark eyes fixed on her lips, now more alluring with a hint of blood.

Lillian struggled slightly, "What are you doing?! We're not done talking. Don't think a bite will make this go away!"

Jackson nodded, "You said your tongue is numb. Let me help you relax before we continue."

"No..."

Before Lillian could finish, Jackson kissed her, his dominant and tender touch truly helping to soothe her.

When he finally let her go, her lips were not only numb but slightly swollen.

She breathed lightly, leaning against Jackson's shoulder, while he looked pleased, gently stroking her messy hair.

"Feeling better?"

Jackson's eyes sparkled with amusement as he looked at her, and Lillian rolled her eyes at him in exasperation.

Jackson lowered his head and chuckled, "What other advice do you have? I'm all ears."

Lillian gave him another annoyed look and turned her head away, not wanting to see him. He was acting all attentive, but he wasn't taking it seriously—just trying to placate her with kisses and hugs.

But Jackson seemed to understand her thoughts. He wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her, positioning her so she straddled his lap. He cupped her face and said earnestly, "I promise, Lillian, from now on, no matter what happens, I won't keep anything from you. Good or bad, we'll face it together, okay? I won't make decisions on my own, thinking I know what's best for you. I'll always be clear and honest with you, respecting your wishes. Is that okay?"

His words were so sincere that Lillian's lingering anger dissipated completely. She nodded, "Alright, but I want to record this as proof."

Lillian pulled out her phone and activated the recording function, raising an eyebrow to signal Jackson to repeat his promise.

Jackson looked a bit helpless but indulgent, and he repeated his promise solemnly.

Lillian saved the recording and smiled, "I'll be generous and forgive you this time."

"Thank you, my queen," Jackson said with a smile, leaning back against the sofa, his expression full of affection.

Lillian gave him a playful glare before her expression turned serious. "Daisy... where is your mom now?"

Previously, everyone had told her that Daisy had gone abroad with Jeffrey. Lillian harbored deep resentment towards Daisy and almost called her by name. But looking at Jackson, she held back, considering his feelings. After all, Daisy was Jackson's biological mother.

Jackson's gaze softened as he stroked Lillian's hair. "You don't have to worry about my feelings. She's your enemy, and you can call her whatever you want. She deserves it."

Lillian clenched her fists slightly. "You're right. I hate her. I'll never forgive her or reconcile with her."

Talking about this made Lillian's heart sink. When she agreed to be Jackson's girlfriend, she didn't know about this. Now that she did, she knew she could never reconcile with Daisy. She couldn't forgive the person who killed her child, even if that person was Jackson's mother.

But what about Jackson? Daisy was his mother, and no matter how angry he was, he couldn't deny that fact. With such a person between them, with such deep family conflicts, would they not end up arguing and resenting each other in the future?

Lillian suddenly felt hesitant and uncertain. Her thoughts were written all over her face, and the blush on her cheeks faded as she realized this. Her body stiffened, and she even had the urge to stand up and move away.

Jackson noticed her reluctance, and his relaxed expression vanished. He reached out to hold Lillian's waist, leaning forward to embrace her tightly.

"She did such a thing, how could I ever forgive her? Lillian, please don't easily deny me or our future, okay?"

Jackson's eyes were filled with a plea, and Lillian's nose tingled with emotion. "But..."

"No buts. She's my mother, but she never acted like one when I needed her. She hurt and abandoned me repeatedly. When she chose to harm my child for another son, our mother-son relationship ended."

One was the person who gave birth to him, but constantly hurt him. The other was the woman who loved him wholeheartedly, despite being hurt by him repeatedly. When it came to Daisy, Jackson knew exactly who he should stand by. He couldn't let Daisy cause any more pain to the person he truly needed to care for and love.

Lillian looked at Jackson. "But she's your mom. What will others think of you?"

Jackson held Lillian's waist and raised an eyebrow. "I don't care what others think. If you care about me, just love me more."

Lillian punched him lightly, thinking he was such a businessman, always knowing how to benefit himself.

"Alright, so what's the deal with Daisy?"

Jackson's lips pressed together, and he was silent for a moment before speaking. "She's in a psychiatric hospital. Lillian, if you feel that this isn't enough and want to pursue legal action, I..."

Daisy's actions were enough to send her to prison. But the Frane family couldn't afford such a scandal. Jackson had considered legal action, but it wasn't a simple matter.

Daisy's imprisonment would not only affect the Frane family but also Star Group, and Martin wouldn't agree to it. Even Lyra wouldn't agree.

Moreover, Jackson had never given up on Lillian, even when she hated him. He was determined to win her back and hoped to have more children with her. If Daisy had a criminal record, it would impact their future children. He didn't want Lillian to be further traumatized, so Daisy was sent to a psychiatric hospital. But now that Lillian knew the truth, Jackson had to consider her wishes.

Lillian looked at him. "If I want to send her to prison and make her pay, you'll agree?"

Jackson didn't hesitate and nodded. "You have every right to do so. Why would I object? I can provide all the evidence and witnesses immediately."

Jackson took out his phone and started to make a call. He opened his contacts to find Harry's number, showing no hesitation or difficulty.

Lillian grabbed his wrist, stopping him. "I want to see her first before deciding."

She wanted to see Daisy's current situation and ask her if her conscience was troubled. Not that she would forgive Daisy if she showed remorse, but she needed closure.

Jackson held Lillian's hand. "Alright, after this is over, I'll take you to see her."

Lillian stared at him. "Daisy was used, wasn't she? The Price family can't be innocent."
