Chapter 539
"Then come find me after you've dealt with Star," Lillian said. She thought this matter wasn't simple because Star would never agree to go abroad.
Jackson raised his hand and patted Lillian's head, his voice deep and slow. "Alright, I promise you. But you also need to keep your distance from those men with bad intentions!"
Jackson paused, then added, "Especially Ambrose."
Lillian was slightly taken aback. She was confused by his mention of Ambrose.
Her confusion was obvious, and Jackson explained in a serious tone, "In Valoria, Don had already been led away. Later, someone sent Don an anonymous message, and that's how Don found you."
This information was obtained during Don's interrogation.
But Don didn't know who sent the message.
Lillian frowned and asked, "Do you suspect this has something to do with Ambrose?"
Jackson chuckled lightly. "Only Ambrose knew where you were. Even I found you by following his lead. What do you think? I warned you before to stay away from Ambrose!"
Lillian frowned even more deeply, remembering that Jackson had indeed warned her before she left Miracalia. "You suspect that Ms. Kelly passed the message to Don?"
Lillian was a bit shocked. She had never even met Anouk.
If Anouk wanted to kill her just because Ambrose helped her, that would be too terrifying.
"Stay away from engaged men!" Jackson said in a serious tone.
Lillian nodded. "I understand."
Jackson still took Lillian to the Frane Group hospital.
Lillian was already 26 weeks pregnant. She was supposed to have a 4D ultrasound while in Country N, but it was postponed due to a sudden snowstorm.
The doctor scheduled the ultrasound for Lillian, and this was the first time Jackson accompanied her for a prenatal check-up.
Jackson was noticeably more nervous and excited than Lillian. The doctor said they needed to prepare some hot water, biscuits, and chocolate, and do some gentle exercises to facilitate the checkup.
Jackson personally went downstairs to buy these things and then walked with Lillian in the hallway for a long time.
During the 4D ultrasound, family members usually weren't allowed to accompany the patient, but everything went smoothly, and no one dared to stop Jackson from entering.
Jackson helped Lillian lie down, and the doctor performing the checkup smiled kindly and reassured her, "Mrs. Frane, don't be nervous. Just relax. Let's see if the baby cooperates. If the baby is shy, it's normal to do it a few more times."
Lillian nodded, thinking that she would soon see what Taylor looked like. Her heartbeat quickened with anticipation and nervousness.
Jackson bent down, held Lillian's hand, and gently scratched her palm.
Lillian stiffened slightly. This was the first time she had exposed her belly in front of Jackson since it had grown larger.
She felt a bit uneasy, but the doctor's words quickly captured all her attention.
"The baby is so good, very cooperative. The position is perfect! The face is clear, everything is great. Mr. Frane, Mrs. Frane, look how beautiful the baby is."
Lillian looked over and immediately saw Taylor with her eyes closed, a tiny fist pressed against her face, as if she were sleeping or thinking.
Lillian instinctively squeezed Jackson's hand in return. Tears welled up in her eyes as she turned to Jackson, her face radiating joy and excitement.
Jackson also looked at her.
His handsome face bore a silly smile almost identical to hers, his deep eyes filled with emotion, slightly reddened.
The unexpected eye contact made Lillian feel her heart being squeezed, stirring an indescribable, tingling emotion.
At least at this moment, they were soulfully connected.
