Chapter 158 Lillian's Interview Ruined
Lillian quickly accompanied Alice into the room, and only after the door closed did Wendy ask Jackson, "Lillian and Alice seem to be very familiar. Lillian is amazing, unlike me—I'm clumsy and not good at socializing. I have to rely on you for everything."
Jackson didn't look at her, took a step forward, and casually said, "She is indeed excellent."
‘To earn that five million dollars, she also dose translation work. She is working hard,’ Jackson thought sarcastically.
Wendy was taken aback. ’Is that the main point of my words?’
"What is Lillian doing here?" Wendy asked.
"She is the accompanying translator," Jackson replied casually.
Wendy frowned. ‘A translator? Previously, Lillian showed me the divorce agreement. She needs to raise five million dollars for the divorce, so I agreed to give up such a good opportunity for her. She should be busy raising money now, but how much money can she make from translation?’
Wendy felt it was not that simple, so once she got to the lounge, she asked Rose to go find out. And Rose quickly found out.
Wendy stood up from her chair and said, "Jackson, I'm a bit nervous. I'll go out for some fresh air."
Jackson sat by the window reading emails, without lifting his head at her words.
Wendy came out of the lounge, took Rose to the end of the corridor, and then Rose whispered a few words.
Wendy's face changed. "What! Did she want to interview to be Alice's student? How can this be allowed?"
This was not acceptable.
Rose frowned. "If Lillian can pass the interview, she will go abroad. Isn't that a good thing? Once she leaves, Mr. Frane will be yours."
But Wendy clenched her fists. "You don't understand."
It was indeed best for her that Lillian went abroad, but Lillian couldn't become Alice's student. If she succeeded, she would stand on a higher platform and have a promising and bright future. And once She stepped onto the international stage, she would shine with the light that had been hidden.
Jackson would only look down on Wendy more, and Grace and York would regret abandoning such an excellent adopted daughter.
They would all regret it.
Wendy absolutely couldn't allow this to happen. Her eyes flashed with determination as she lowered her voice.
After chatting with Alice for a while, Lillian came out of the room. Alice was running out of time, so after a short rest, she would watch Lillian's dance first.
Lillian had booked a room at this hotel in advance. After leaving Alice's room, she returned to her room.
In the bedroom, she changed into her dance outfit and did two sets of stretches. After that, she walked out of the room, picked up a glass of water from the table, and took a sip.
It wasn't time yet, so she sat cross-legged on the sofa, closed her eyes, and cleared her mind.
This was her habit before going on stage for many years. But for some reason, her mind gradually became drowsy, and her eyelids became heavier. She slumped softly on the sofa.
After a while, the phone on the table kept vibrating, but Lillian, unaware and unconscious, did not hear it.
"What's going on? She's not answering the phone." Anna called Lillian three times, looking helplessly at Alice.
Alice hated people who didn't follow the rules and were late, and now she had made an exception and waited for Lillian for five minutes. "Lillian must not be deliberately not answering the phone."
Next to her, Wendy anxiously communicated with Anna in English, "It seems like Alice is getting impatient. I'll go find Lillian. Can you please ask Alice to wait a few minutes?"
Wendy turned and ran to ask a waiter, and soon she ran back, looking embarrassed. "The waiter said he saw someone who looked like Lillian half an hour ago rushing away. She must have left because something very important came up."
At this moment, Jackson walked over with Terry. Seeing Alice looking displeased and not seeing Lillian, he looked at Anna and asked, "What's going on?"
