Chapter 455

Lillian turned to Jackson and asked, "What are you gonna do with Wendy?"

"The cops will take her tomorrow," Jackson said, stepping forward and holding Lillian's hand.

Her hand was cold, and Jackson's big hand wrapped around it, gently rubbing.

Lillian was still thinking about Wendy. "The police?" she asked.

Wendy's actions were gross, but she hadn't done anything major. Why call the cops?

Jackson's eyes were stern. "Wendy's involved in Sean's case too."

He had Terry investigate, but Wendy hid the person, making it a needle-in-a-haystack situation. Today, Wendy's actions were exposed, and Jackson had Harry find Rose. Seeing Wendy powerless now, Rose spilled everything Wendy had done.

Lillian's heart raced. Even after all this time, thinking of Sean still horrified her, making her tremble slightly.

Jackson tightened his grip on her hand. "Don't be scared."

Lillian realized he had been holding both her hands and tried to pull away.

Star's voice came from behind, "Jackson, my mom will be fine, right? I just met her today and haven't spent much time with her."

Jackson turned to her. "She'll be fine."

Lillian tried to pull her hands away, but Jackson tightened his grip.

Star noticed their clasped hands and smiled shyly, looking kindly at Lillian. "Jackson and I grew up together. Lyra, Daisy, and Martin have always been good to me. The Frane family is like my second home.

"Jackson told me you grew up in the Frane family too. Even though this is the first time we're meeting, I feel close to you because of that. Jackson and I were born on the same day, month, and year, six years older than you. If you don't mind, you can call me sister. Can I call you Lillian?"

Star's eyes were cautious, radiating goodwill. Her experiences were pitiful and sympathetic. She even risked her life to save Jackson, endured many hardships, and was finally found after years. Today, in the hospital, Star behaved sensibly.

But for some reason, Lillian felt something was off. Maybe it was her own issues, being too caught up in the Price family's affairs, that she couldn't feel any affection for Star.

She responded with a polite smile. "Miss Price, just call me by my name."

Star was stunned, not expecting Lillian's coldness. It seemed to hurt her, and she looked a bit lost. She reached out to Lillian again, forcing a smile.

"Lillian, are you mad because Jackson delayed the wedding to save me? I'm sorry, don't blame Jackson. It's my fault for getting a high fever, and Jackson took me to the hospital, which delayed things," Star said.

At that moment, a child passed by with his mother. The child saw Star's outstretched hand and screamed, "Mom, that lady's hand is scary!"

Star's face turned pale, and she looked at the child in panic.

Before Lillian could react, Jackson let go of her hands, grabbed Star's deformed hand, and pulled her behind him, wrapping his hand around hers. He glared at the child with a chilling intensity, scaring the child into his mother's arms, crying loudly.
