Chapter 420 The Letter

Jackson's eyes were sulky. He thought, 'Only four people know Adara's a fake Star—Dominic, Adara, Lillian, and me. How did Megan find out?'

Furious, Dominic snapped, "Spill it! Who told you? They have bad intentions!"

Jackson's presence made Megan nervous. She stammered, "Last night, someone slipped a letter under my door. Here it is."

The Price family was dwindling. Megan's son was Susan's only nephew and had been caring for her.

If Star was fake, Megan's son would secure his inheritance, so Megan couldn't resist revealing the truth.

"Show me the letter," Dominic demanded, extending his hand.

Just then, the doctors finished their resuscitation efforts.

Dominic and Jackson turned to look.

Lillian noticed Jackson tense up. She held his hand, silently comforting him.

She didn't want anything to happen to Susan, even though Susan wasn't friendly to her.

The doctor came out, looking relieved. "The resuscitation was successful, but Mrs. Price can't handle more stress."

After the doctor left, they entered the ward.

Dominic held Susan's hand, his voice heavy. "Susan, how are you? I'm sorry we lied about Star."

Susan, weak from her ordeal, could only make faint sounds.

Dominic leaned in to hear her. Then he called out, "Wendy, come here."

Wendy hid her regret, thinking, 'Susan survived. But this is good. She values my baby, so my place in the Price family is secure.'

Wendy walked past Lillian, bumping her arm.

Lillian frowned, watching Wendy approach the bed.

Susan had targeted Lillian before, and now with Wendy around, Lillian's peaceful days seemed numbered.

Lillian felt exhausted, her good mood gone.

Wendy said, "Susan, no, Mom, even though I haven't married Henry, the baby is his. This child is the Price family's only bloodline. It's right for me to call you Mom, isn't it?"

Susan weakly nodded. Wendy placed Susan's hand on her belly.

"Mom, feel it. Your grandson is still here. I'll take good care of him, and you need to take care of yourself to see him grow up."

Susan looked gratified and turned to Dominic.

Dominic reassured her, "I understand. You rest well."

Susan closed her eyes, and the nurse took over. Everyone left the ward.

Outside, Dominic questioned Megan again. "Where's the letter?"

Megan handed over a folded piece of paper. Dominic unfolded it, frowning at the handwriting. He asked Jackson, "This looks like your handwriting, but more delicate, like a woman's. Take a look."

He handed the letter to Jackson.

Jackson let go of Lillian's hand and took the letter.

Lillian felt a bad premonition.
