Chapter 435
Even though she knew it would help much, she kept praying Shirley would be okay.
Someone shouted that the ambulance had arrived, and Barry quickly picked Shirley up.
Lillian stood, but her vision went black, and she swayed.
She fell into Jackson's familiar embrace, his hand steadying her waist.
But what usually felt comforting now felt like thorns, causing her pain.
"Don't touch me!" she spat.
Her eyes filled with disgust as she broke free and tried to catch up with Barry and Shirley.
But her wedding dress's long train tripped her.
Jackson grabbed her arm again, pulling her back, and said, "I'll carry you."
Lillian refused, yanking her arm away and tearing at the dress.
The sound of the fabric ripping echoed sharply in Jackson’s ears, each tear seeming to rip at his heart.
When Lillian looked at him, her eyes were cold and empty.
"Jackson, today, we become strangers. All the love and obsession we once had are severed, just like this dress!"
The torn dress cut into her wrist, staining it with blood.
Her pale lip was also bitten, flecked with red.
Jackson's emotions surged uncontrollably, his desire to destroy everything nearly overwhelming.
Lillian cast one final, dismissive glance at him, threw the shredded dress at his feet, and fled down the stairs after Barry.
Jackson lifted his foot but then stopped, closing his eyes and standing still.
Lillian didn't want to see him.
It was chaotic here; he came back late and had to handle the aftermath.
Standing there, Jackson's face was a mask of cold fury, his fists clenched tightly, veins throbbing visibly.
The luxurious hall was full of people, but it felt frozen, and silent.
After a moment, Jackson moved. He bent down, picked up the torn dress, and clenched it in his palm.
As if he could grasp something this way.
He turned, his cold gaze fixing on Gemma's swollen face.
Then he looked at Kevin, who looked guilty, and asked, "How did she fall?"
Kevin's Adam's apple bobbed, his face pale.
It was chaotic. He was focused on protecting Gemma and didn't notice Daisy near the stairs.
He never thought a simple push would lead to this.
He opened his mouth to speak, but Gemma pushed him aside and said, "Let me explain. You go check on that woman; don't leave Lillian alone."
Kevin nodded and quickly went down the stairs.
Gemma told Jackson everything that happened.
Jackson listened in silence, his face growing darker, the dress crumpled in his palm.
After hearing everything, Jackson scanned the room, not surprised.
He didn't see Daisy and Wendy.
"Search the hotel; find Mrs. Daisy Frane and Wendy!" Jackson ordered, striding towards the hall.
The diary had always been in his office drawer; his office was strictly managed.
He had to find out who took the photo and who manipulated the contents of the dairy, and he wouldn't let them get away!
