Chapter 301 Unless You Explain

Lillian had called him, but she could never reach him.

Holding onto a last shred of hope, she secretly bought a plane ticket with the gift she had prepared and flew abroad.

In the end, she saw Wendy running towards Jackson with a bouquet of roses. Jackson smiled as he took the roses, and the two left together.

Later, news of Wendy passionately pursuing Jackson and the two being together indeed spread back to Miracalia from abroad.

But now Jackson was flatly denying it.

"When I was abroad, I was so busy I barely had time to sleep, let alone date," Jackson scoffed and added, "I'll never have an ex-girlfriend in this lifetime, but I do have an ex-wife."

Lillian wasn't in the mood to joke with him. She grabbed Jackson's shirt collar and said, "You're lying. On your twenty-second birthday, you clearly accepted the roses Wendy gave you, and she even linked arms with you to go to a candlelight dinner!"

She had seen it with her own eyes. How could it be wrong?

Jackson's brow furrowed again. He couldn't recall what Lillian was talking about, but her words made him laugh in exasperation. He snorted, "Lillian, I'm not that desperate!"

"What do you mean?" Lillian confused.

"I was 22, Wendy was only 16. Even if I wanted to date, it wouldn't be with her!" Jackson was obviously angry and flicked Lillian's forehead with his finger.

Lillian covered her forehead, her face showing a look of skepticism.

She wanted to laugh, yet also wanted to cry. She felt a bit aggrieved and resentful.

"But you did accept her roses and let her link arms with you to go to a candlelight dinner on such an important day as your birthday," Lillian insisted.

Jackson frowned, thought carefully, and vaguely remembered the incident. He explained helplessly, "That day, York and Grace were also there to meet and discuss something. The roses were bought by Wendy for her mom. She had cut her hand, and I was just helping her hold them. Later, the flight was delayed, and I had something to do, so we didn't finish the meal. As for her linking arms with me, I don't remember that."

After Jackson finished speaking, he squinted his eyes slightly and asked, "How do you know all this? It's like you saw it with your own eyes."

Lillian was silent.

She now thought of that day when she saw everything, walking despondently on foreign streets, crying her heart out.

She felt like a fool being played by Wendy.

She didn't want to tell Jackson how heartbroken and concerned she was at that time.

Now that Jackson was cooperating, Lillian wanted to know more about Wendy's pregnancy. She replied, "I know because Wendy was spreading it everywhere. Since she's not your ex-girlfriend, you have no reason to care about the child in her belly."

As she brought the topic back, Jackson said, "I care about the child because of his father. It has nothing to do with Wendy."

Lillian's breath was caught, and she stared at Jackson, urging him, "Then you need to explain it to me. If it's someone else's child, I can naturally treat it with a normal heart. However, I hate Wendy. You already saw she can never truly settle down. She and I are like water and fire, destined to be incompatible. I'm not a morally superior person. I hate her! It makes me very uncomfortable, but you want me to accept her child, accept her child, and let her constantly appear in my life, stirring up trouble. If I stay here in such a compromising manner, I'll feel so pathetic. Unless you explain..."

Before Lillian could finish, Jackson grabbed her by the back of the neck and kissed her.
