Chapter 239 Not Heartbroken?

"No, I don't," Jackson grabbed Jeffrey's collar, lifted him up, and replied impatiently.

The entanglement between him and Lillian was too deep to be summed up by a simple like or dislike.

"Jackson, you're so stubborn!" Jeffrey grunted, buried himself in Jackson's stomach, then pushed him away and ran toward Lillian not far away. "Lillian, you better get a divorce and find someone else. It's too tiring to like just one person. You should like seventy or eighty."

Lillian caught Jeffrey as he ran towards her, crouching down to brush the dust off him.

She casually rubbed her chest, where it didn't hurt but was a little empty.

She smiled at Jeffrey as she said, "I'll try hard to explore all kinds of men."

Jackson turned around and walked over, looking down at Lillian. "Liking one person is tiring enough; liking seventy or eighty will only be more exhausting."

Lillian stood up, raising her eyebrows with a smile. "That's not certain. Maybe I have the generosity for that."

She took Jeffrey's hand and walked away. Jeffrey rolled his eyes at Jackson.

Jackson walked over and opened the back door for the two, looking at Lillian. "It's late. I'll drive you home."

He was driving the same car as before, which made Lillian uncomfortable because Wendy had ridden in it before.

She shook her head and said, "Jeffrey needs rest. If you take me and then him back, it'll be too late. There's no need for the trouble. I can just call a car."

However, Jackson's expression darkened slightly as he insisted. "Get in! I can't leave you here this late."

Lillian pursed her lips, thinking he had left her before. Last time, he dragged her into the car as she was at home and made her get out barefoot.

"I'm not going back! I want to stay with Lillian tonight!" Jeffrey shouted.

He hugged Lillian's waist stubbornly and nuzzled his head in her arms. He had grown so fast that he was already at her chest.

Jackson's handsome face turned sullen slightly as he grabbed Jeffrey by the back of his neck and threw him into the back seat.

Jeffrey got up furiously, asking, "Jackson, are you a devil?"

"Boys like you shouldn't act like that!" Jackson said sternly, closing the car door.

Jeffrey rolled down the window and poked his head out, saying, "Jackson, you don't understand. Boys like me who act cute are the luckiest. Lillian, let me go with you."

Jeffrey pouted, clinging to the window, looking very aggrieved.

Lillian thought of the moment she had just held Jeffrey in her arms. Although he seemed taller, his body was still thin. He had lost so much weight due to illness that his clothes hung loosely on him.

Lillian was leaving the country in a few days and didn't know when she would see Jeffrey again. So she nodded and said, "You better sit back down. Be careful not to catch a cold. I promise you."

"Look!" Jeffrey glanced triumphantly at Jackson and closed the window.

Jackson chuckled, took Lillian's arm, and led her to the passenger seat, saying, "It's late. Let him lie down in the back and sleep."

Lillian nodded and sat in the passenger seat.

On the way, Jeffrey was really tired and quietly fell asleep in the back.

Lillian asked Jackson softly, "Is Jeffrey okay?"

"We've set up a specialized medical team. It's currently under control, and new drugs are being developed, but progress is slow," Jackson said calmly, but the slight tension in his jawline made her feel heavy.

She turned to look at Jeffrey.

Jackson caught sight of Lillian's watery eyes, which were filled with worry and compassion.

Suddenly, he felt a pang of jealousy. He used to be the most important person in her heart.

But now it seemed like everyone else was more important than him.

"I had a wound that wouldn't heal for a long time, but I didn't see you worry like this," Jackson said, feeling a bit jealous.

Lillian Young chuckled and looked at him. "How could you say that? Luckily, I didn't worry, or I'd be a big fool."

In fact, she did worry. In those days, she was very concerned, but she found out that he and Terry were deceiving her.

Jackson looked at her cold face, tightened his grip on the steering wheel, and chuckled slightly. "Not really heartbroken?"

Lillian glanced at him and met his ambiguous gaze as her heart tightened uncontrollably.

However, she replied firmly, "No!"

She could only suspect he was deceiving her again.

Jackson felt like an invisible arrow had struck his chest.
