Chapter 672

Jackson glanced at the tablet and saw the latest entertainment gossip trending. #Nathan Airport #Nathan Secret Relationship #Beautiful Assistant

He frowned, not really getting why this mattered to him.

His eyes paused on Nathan's name for a second, just because Nathan was his brother-in-law. But honestly, he couldn't care less about Nathan's private life.

With a flick of his knuckles, Jackson pushed the tablet away and said coldly, "Get rid of it!"

Even though Jackson looked away, Terry noticed he seemed a bit out of it, like he wasn't really seeing the documents in front of him.

Lately, Jackson had been zoning out a lot, looking all serious. Terry had seen it enough times to spot it right away.

Terry took the tablet, clicked one of the trending topics, and quietly put it back in front of Jackson.

Jackson's eyes darkened, ready to blow up, but then he saw someone in the photo and quickly grabbed the tablet.

Terry watched as the usually indifferent Jackson suddenly zoomed in on the photo like a madman, almost laughing out loud.

In the photo, Lillian was wearing a hat, her head down, showing just a bit of her pretty chin and red lips.

But with her dancer's physique, posture, and aura, Lillian stood out in any crowd.

Jackson stared at her, his eyes lighting up with joy, longing, and deep yearning.

For the past four months, he hadn't gone to Seaspring Valley City to bother her, nor had he sent anyone to check on her.

Lillian, after returning to the Kelly Family, had kept a low profile. When she came back, the Kelly Group's official media just announced they were cutting ties with Anouk and welcoming back the real Kelly Family heiress.

It caused a stir at the time, but since Lillian never showed up publicly and the Kelly Group didn't spill more details, the buzz died down quickly.

So, this was the first time in four months that Jackson had seen Lillian again.

He kept zooming in on the photo, his eyes deep, trying to catch every detail and change in Lillian.

Terry thought if Jackson wasn't so good-looking, he'd totally look like a creep.

"Terry, do you think she's been smiling all the time? There are too few photos, just these two, and they're both blocked." Jackson flipped through all the photos in the trending topics, but most were of Nathan, with only two showing Lillian.

These media folks were really clueless. What was so special about Nathan? They even guessed Lillian was Nathan's secret girlfriend. Nathan, still a rookie, was no match for Lillian!

Terry replied, "Mr. Frane, I've looked closely. Ms. Kelly seems to be in good shape, both physically and mentally. She does look really happy."

Jackson finally looked up from the photos to Terry. "Why did she came back? What does that mean?"

Jackson didn't want to overthink it, but he couldn't help feeling a spark of hope.

Seeing the usually confident Jackson so unsure and losing his cool, Terry felt a bit sad.

But then Terry remembered when Lillian first started working as a clerk at Star Group. Every time she brought a drink to the office, she would eagerly watch Jackson's reaction to each sip.

Lillian always asked, "Terry, why did he put it down after just one sip? Did I make it too weak? Terry, do you think it'd be better if I put the cup on his left side next time? He almost knocked it over grabbing the file and seemed annoyed."

Lillian would obsess over these tiny details for ages.

Now, it felt like the tables had turned. Matters of the heart were really unpredictable.

Terry said, "Mr. Frane, I think Ms. Kelly coming back to Miracalia means she's let go of the past and is ready to move forward."

Jackson's brows relaxed a bit, and a rare warm smile appeared on his lips. "Your judgment's getting better."

Terry felt flattered. Having Lillian back had definitely brightened up his rough days.

"So, she shouldn't mind seeing me, right?" Jackson had been holding back, not because he didn't want to see Lillian, but because he was unsure of her feelings.

He was scared that if he upset her, she might leave again.

Terry thought for a moment and said, "Since she's willing to come back, I guess she's ready to run into you."

Terry wasn't entirely sure, but Jackson took Terry's guess as a fact.

Jackson stood up abruptly and told Terry, "Find out where she is now and why she came back."

Terry nodded and quickly went to find out.

Jackson grabbed his suit jacket and headed out, but then stopped and went back to the inner lounge.

When Terry came back in, he saw five suits tossed on the bed in the lounge.

Jackson was in front of the mirror, matching ties.

Terry glanced quickly and couldn't help but smirk.

With this setup, anyone who didn't know would think Jackson was going to a beauty pageant instead of seeing Lillian.

Terry reported, "Mr. Frane, Lillian left the airport and went straight to Shirley's Elegance Estates. She probably came back for Shirley."

Jackson asked, "What's up with Shirley?"

Knowing Lillian's whereabouts, Jackson got impatient. He quickly chose a blue tie with floral patterns, tying it as he walked briskly out. He couldn't wait to see her.

Terry hurried to catch up. "Shirley did have some trouble; she's been slammed online."

Jackson usually didn't pay attention to entertainment gossip. Hearing this, he paused and looked at Terry.

Terry took out his phone, found a widely circulated video, and handed it over, explaining, "Last month, Shirley and Gray's drama became a hit. Shirley, although the fourth female lead, had a well-liked character. Her action scenes and acting were impressive, gaining her many fans. In the behind-the-scenes footage, Shirley was seen getting along well with the cast, earning her a good reputation."

Terry quickly continued, "But a few days ago, a video surfaced online showing a mistress being harshly confronted by a woman. The woman in the video was identified as Lucy Ellis, the wife of Austin Bell, the producer of the ongoing drama. The mistress being confronted was Shirley. Since the lead actress in that drama is Shirley, the netizens are now accusing her of using underhanded means to get the role, calling her a homewrecker and demanding she get out of the entertainment industry."

So, Lillian came back for Shirley.

Jackson, while not arrogant enough to think that Lillian's return was all about him, still felt a deep sense of loss and jealousy knowing she came back because of Shirley. Once, Jackson had been more important than Shirley, more important than anyone.
