Chapter 801

Since Lillian returned to the Kelly family, her relationship with Kenneth and Ruby has been lukewarm. Anouk has already taken away Kenneth and Ruby's affection.

She wouldn't lose in other areas either; one day, she would take everything back.

Thinking this, the chill in Anouk's heart dissipated, and she covered her face and said,

"Mr. Frane, this is an internal issue of The Kelly Media. It's not appropriate for you to intervene and condone Lillian's violent behavior, is it?"

Jackson didn't even glance at Anouk, nor did he bother to answer her stupid question.

He released Lillian's hand and said, "Ms. Kelly, I specifically came to discuss the Star Group's annual meeting with you. Do you have time now?"

Lillian didn't bother with Anouk anymore and nodded at Jackson, saying, "Mr. Frane, let's go to the lounge to talk."

Lillian raised her hand, but her heart was slightly touched.

She knew Jackson's claim of discussing the annual meeting was false. He must have known about the videos and rumors spreading in the group and came over out of concern for her.

"Okay." Jackson's gaze remained gentle on Lillian, as if he would do anything she asked.

The two of them started walking, completely ignoring Thalia and Anouk.

Anouk was unwilling to give up. She stepped forward and pushed Thalia ahead, saying, "Jackson, if you're here to discuss the Star Group's annual meeting, you should be talking to me. The manager just assigned this project to me. Right, Ms. Fairchild?"

She pushed Thalia forward, urging her.

Jackson stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Anouk.

"What did you call me?" His tone was cold and puzzled.

Anouk had just called him Jackson, but he was more concerned about Lillian's hand and ignored it.

Unexpectedly, Anouk called him Jackson again.

"Jackson, I..." Anouk smiled slightly, softly tilting her head.

She wanted to say she was the adopted daughter of Lillian's parents.

Given this relationship, calling him Jackson wasn't inappropriate.

But before she could explain, Jackson coldly said, "Stop trying to forge connections. If I hear you call me that again, I'll pull out your tongue!"

His words left Anouk with no dignity. Especially the last threatening sentence, which sounded like a joke, but Anouk knew Jackson could do it.

Her face turned pale, and she closed her mouth tightly.

Thalia instinctively took two steps back, not daring to speak.

But even though they stopped pestering, Jackson didn't leave.

He pulled Lillian to sit on the sofa, crossing his legs, and said, "Ms. Fairchild, notify Ms. Lawson to come over."

Thalia was slightly surprised and frowned, "Mr. Frane, what do you mean by this?"

"Of course, I want to ask her if she looks down on my Star Group. How dare she let her subordinates arbitrarily change project partners?"

Lillian nodded, "I also want to ask Ms. Lawson. Ms. Fairchild, please make the call."

Thalia was sweating coldly.

She knew very well that she and Anouk had no justification for this matter.

Now that Jackson was here, it was clear he was backing Lillian. If Ruby came, the situation would escalate.

By then, Ruby would blame her for mishandling the situation and causing trouble.

Thalia immediately bent over and smiled apologetically.

"No, Mr. Frane, you misunderstood. How could we dare to neglect the Star Group and you? Besides, Lillian is the Kelly Group's heiress. Even if someone wanted to take the project, they wouldn't dare take it from her. It's just that there were some unpleasant rumors in the company, and I was worried Lillian would be upset hearing them, so I wanted her to take a few days off until the rumors died down."

"What kind of rumors? Since you know they're rumors, shouldn't you be thinking about how to discipline and punish those who spread them, Ms. Fairchild? Instead, you make the victim avoid them? Do you want all the employees to say Lillian is guilty and that's why she's not coming to work?"

Jackson's questioning made Thalia's face look extremely unpleasant.

She quickly waved her hand, "No! Of course not, I really meant well. Mr. Frane, now that you're here, those messy rumors will naturally be dispelled, and the project is, of course, more suitable for Lillian to complete."

Thalia immediately pulled Anouk over and said, "Sorry for the misunderstanding, we apologize."

Anouk lowered her head, gritting her teeth, hiding the resentment in her eyes.

But she knew that with Jackson here, she wouldn't gain any advantage today.

She sniffed and followed suit, saying, "Lillian, I didn't mean to take the project, but since you misunderstood, I apologize. I'm sorry."

"Lillian, I didn't mean to take the project, but since you misunderstood, I apologize. I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize. Your apology is so reluctant, I can't accept it. Let's have Ms. Lawson come over and clarify things face to face." Lillian chuckled.

Anouk bit her lip hard, bowed deeply to Lillian, and said again, "Lillian, I'm sorry."

If Ruby really came, she would probably just scold Anouk a bit, which wouldn't be meaningful.

Lillian didn't want to bother anymore. She stood up, looking down at Anouk, and said, "Next time, use a different title. We're not that close."

Lillian's words reminded Anouk of her embarrassing act of calling Jackson affectionately.

Anouk immediately felt the spot on her face that had been slapped burning again.

She almost ground her teeth to pieces.

Lillian, however, had already walked out of Thalia's office with Jackson.

As soon as they stepped out, everyone's eyes either secretly or openly focused on them.

Before Lillian could react, Jackson smiled and said to her, "Lillian, that's your workstation, right? With those little cushions and trinkets I gave you. I picked each one out for you personally. I was worried you'd throw them in the trash if you knew they were from me, but I'm glad you're using them."

When Jackson said this, his tall body unconsciously leaned towards Lillian, even bending slightly.

His voice wasn't loud, but because it was so quiet around, the nearby people still heard it.

On Lillian's first day, someone sent a box of items, various desk decorations, thoughtful and practical.

There was also a bouquet of roses, which Lillian took out and gave away, with several girls in the department receiving them.

Now, hearing Jackson say this, they realized those were all from Jackson to Lillian.

It was clear that Jackson was actively pursuing and caring for Lillian, contrary to the rumors.

In fact, Lillian had casually discarded the roses Jackson sent, showing she wasn't interested.

Moreover, Lillian had just been insulted and despised, and Jackson rushed to The Kelly Media, clearly to dispel the rumors with his actions.

Being so protective and caring for Lillian, the rumors were indeed the opposite of the truth.
