Chapter 231 Wendy Was Exposed

Lillian took quite a while to figure out the whole story.

It turned out that just after she left the hospital, Shirley had a dispute with Wendy.

Shirley accused someone of cyber bullying, making a scene at the hospital, and directly calling the police for extortion.

She even waved the phone used for the live broadcast in front of Wendy, intimidating her.

However, Wendy felt guilty and actually fell into Shirley's trap.

Wendy was worried about what the police might find, so she had someone steal back the phone. Shirley was prepared, so the person didn't manage to retrieve the phone but was caught by her.

The police arrived in time, and the person who stole the phone immediately implicated Rose.

The police checked the information on the phone and also brought in the tall man from the live broadcast, confirming his monetary transactions with Rose.

This time, Wendy couldn't escape the consequences with the deliberate online exposure and defamation.

"We haven't been able to reach Mary and the others. Mrs. Frane, do you still want to press charges against them for extortion?" a police officer, Fred, asked Lillian.

Mary and the others were taken away by Jackson, who promised to handle it for Lillian.

Even if Lillian were to accuse Mary of extortion, there would be no concrete evidence. Secondly, Mary was her mother, so she would likely only receive criticism.

Lillian shook her head and said, "Let's not waste police resources, thank you."

Fred said, "Alright. We will further investigate the defamation charges against Wendy and Rose and contact you if there are any developments."

Lillian and Shirley exchanged a glance, both with a hint of a smile.

After all, Wendy had been causing trouble, so they should vent some frustration.

They thanked and prepared to leave when Fred reminded Shirley, "Ms. James, although you are skilled, it's best to prioritize your safety. It's not advisable to put yourself in danger to lure criminals. Go and attend to your injuries."

"Are you hurt?" Lillian asked surprisedly.

Shirley extended her right hand, which was hidden in her sleeve, saying, "It's just a minor scratch, nothing serious."

It was truly just a scratch, but Lillian was very worried about it. She scolded, "Listen to the police officer!"

"Yes, I will definitely listen." Shirley reassured Lillian with a smile.

She felt that if she could get Wendy and the cunning Rose detained or even sentenced to a few days in prison, it was worth the injury.

However, a young police officer approached at that moment and whispered a few words to Fred.

Fred's expression changed slightly. He glanced at Lillian, furrowing his brows.

Lillian had already guessed it. As expected, Fred said, "Our colleagues have simply questioned Rose, who admitted that everything was her doing, and Wendy was unaware. Moreover, someone has come to bail out Wendy, so she has been released."

Lillian and Wendy's joyful mood was instantly dampened by this news.

"How could this happen? I want to see who is so eager to bail out Wendy!" Shirley Furiously grabbed Lillian and swiftly left the police station.

Just as they reached the door, they saw Jackson's car parked outside, the back window slightly open. He was still in the same suit as before, wearing a black mask, his profile cold and perfect.

Beside him sat Wendy, who looked pale and frail.

Lillian stopped in her tracks, thinking it would be York and Grace coming to bail out Wendy.

But it turned out to be Jackson.

"Damn it! Jackson is truly Wendy's follower, always obedient to her every command, tirelessly cleaning up after Wendy's mess! Lillian, thankfully, you woke up in time to divorce him!" Shirley was stunned for a moment, then burst out in anger.
