Chapter 730

Mike was stunned. "You don't know?"

"What should I know?" Lillian slightly frowned.

The Frane Family hasn't had anyone pass away recently, but looking at Mike's stiff expression, Lillian suddenly thought of Jeffrey, who was said to have been taken abroad by Daisy.

Lillian had also tried to contact Jeffrey during this time, but for some reason, Jeffrey left her a message on Facebook three months ago saying he needed to focus on his studies and quit using his phone. Since then, there had been no response.

"Did something happen to Jeffrey?" Thinking of Jeffrey's previous condition, Lillian's gaze at Mike trembled slightly.

Mike quickly shook his head. "No, Jeffrey is doing great. I saw him a few days ago, and he's almost as tall as me now. Don't overthink it."

Lillian frowned even more. "Isn't Jeffrey abroad?"

Mike paused. "Yes, I was on a business trip a few days ago and took the opportunity to visit Jeffrey and Daisy."

'Then who does Jackson go to the cemetery to see?' A thought belatedly flashed through Lillian's mind, and her fingers clenched tightly on her lap, her nails digging painfully into her palm.

Observing her expression, Mike bit the inside of his cheek, blaming himself for speaking too much. "Jackson didn't tell you because he didn't want you to be sad."

Lillian looked out the car window, trying to suppress her emotions, but she couldn't hide the redness in her eyes.

After a moment, she turned back. "Mike, do you know the exact location of the cemetery?"

Mike looked at her. "Why don't you let Jackson take you there?"

Seeing Lillian's red eyes silently staring at him, Mike showed a look of helplessness and apology. "It's not that I don't want to tell you; I really don't know! Jackson never let us visit."

Even if he knew, he couldn't take Lillian there.

If Lillian had an emotional breakdown and shed a few tears, Jackson would have the whole city after him.

Lillian knew Mike wouldn't say more, so she didn't press further.

Lillian took out her phone, opened WhatsApp, hesitated for a moment, and found Jackson from her blacklist.

After adding him back, Lillian opened the chat but didn't know what to type.

She typed and deleted repeatedly, but in the end, she didn't ask directly.

Lillian: [Are you free tomorrow?]

Lillian thought it would be better to ask in person and have Jackson take her there directly.

At that moment, Jackson, who received the message, almost thought he was hallucinating, and he couldn't stay calm.

After sending the message, Lillian held her phone tightly, feeling inexplicably nervous.

But after waiting for a while without any response, just as Lillian was getting puzzled, Jackson finally replied.

Jackson: [Honey, do you get hacked?]

Lillian blinked, feeling a mix of amusement and frustration.

The pain in her heart seemed to ease a bit.

She didn't know how to respond and stared at the term of endearment Jackson used.

At that moment, the line she was staring at suddenly disappeared. Jackson had retracted the message.

But this time, she didn't have to wait long before Jackson replied again: [I'm free.]

Lillian pretended not to see anything and replied: [Let's meet tomorrow afternoon. I have something to ask you.]

Jackson: [Okay.]

In the ward, Jackson had uncrossed his legs.

Leaning back casually on the couch, Jackson straightened up, his arms resting on his spread legs, holding his phone.

After agreeing, he worried about seeming too cold and added two more messages.

Jackson: [What time?]

Jackson: [Do you need me to pick you up?]

Lillian thought about her schedule for tomorrow. She was planning to go to Star Group in the afternoon to submit a cooperation proposal on behalf of the Kelly Media. It would be convenient to meet Jackson then, around four or five in the afternoon.

Just as she was about to reply, Jackson's message popped up again.

Jackson: [I checked with Terry about tomorrow's schedule. I only have time during dinner. I'll book a restaurant, and we can talk over dinner.]

Lillian sighed and deleted the time she had typed, replying: [Okay.]

Jackson stared at her brief reply, his deep eyes sparkling, and a slight smile appeared on his lips.

Terry, who had just brought in a bunch of baby items, was almost moved to tears seeing Jackson smile.

He leaned in and asked softly, "Mr. Frane, is there good news?"

Jackson finally turned off his phone screen, twirling the phone between his long fingers, and looked at Terry. "Book a restaurant for tomorrow night."

Terry instantly understood who Jackson was dining with.

The only person who could make Jackson smile again was Lillian.

Terry immediately nodded, excitedly saying, "Don't worry, I'll list the hottest couple's restaurants in Miracalia and give you a comparison to choose from."

For the past six months, Jackson had turned into a workaholic due to relationship troubles, and Terry felt he had lost the ability to produce dopamine.

Poor Terry hadn't flirted or dated a woman in half a year. He needed to research where couples were dating and dining these days.

Jackson nodded approvingly at Terry.

Star, sitting on the hospital bed holding Logan, heard everything clearly despite Terry and Jackson lowering their voices.

She bit her lip hard, lowering her head to hide her anxiety and jealousy.

She tried not to listen or look, but Jackson's handsome face, focused on texting, kept flashing before her eyes.

Jackson's smile, his indulgent and pampering demeanor, was captivating.

She thought in her head, 'This couldn't go on. A man like Jackson is irresistible to any woman. Moreover, Jackson is now devoted only to Lillian. Lillian is just pretending. She still has feelings for Jackson. How long could she resist if Jackson pursues her like this? If they reconcile, I will have no chance at all.'
