Chapter 61 He Was Protecting Another Woman

Jackson looked coldly.

"Lillian is my wife. Is the Sivan family against the Frane family? Against me?"

His voice was cold, but the threat in it was chilling.

Grace shivered all over, her face turning pale.

Wendy looked at her with grievance and endurance. "Mom. Maybe I was just imagining things. Lillian wouldn't do such malicious things. Let's just leave it at that. Please apologize to the guests on my behalf. Jackson will accompany me."

Grace left helplessly. Wendy grabbed Jackson's hand and tried to hold it.

Jackson pulled his sleeve away and said, "I'll go change my clothes."

He was still wet, so Wendy had to say, "Jackson, go quickly, don't get sick."

He left to seek out the driver who was waiting at the door with a set of replacement clothes taken from the car.

"What about Lillian?" Jackson asked, frowning.

Jackson didn't take the clothes immediately.

The driver, Floyd, was taken aback. "Ms. Lillian? She should be showering and changing clothes somewhere."

Only then did Jackson take the clothes and was led by a servant to change in the guest room.

Floyd went downstairs, found a servant, and asked about Lillian in a hurry, but she said Lillian had already left.

Floyd was slightly shocked, so he quickly left the Sivan family house, just in time to see Lillian flag down a taxi and get in.

Floyd didn't chase after her and just drove back.

Lillian didn't see Jackson until early the next day. As she walked out of the hallway, she saw a familiar car parked not far away.

Jackson was standing by the car smoking. When he saw her, he crushed the cigarette butt and threw it into the trash before walking over.

Lillian pretended not to see him and walked past him.

Jackson frowned. "You didn't get sick last night, did you?"

The weather was cold. Wendy had a fever last night, and because she was pregnant, she couldn't take medicine. The servant had taken care of her all night, and Jackson couldn't leave.

He tried calling Lillian, but she had blocked him, so he couldn't ask her.

Lillian had a slight fever last night, but she had a good constitution, took medicine herself, and was much better in the morning.

She turned around and said mockingly, "Mr. Jackson  isn't it a bit too late to start caring now? Oh, right. I remember now. You were very busy last night, taking care of your sweetheart. How could you have time for me? Fortunately, my strong vitality is my only advantage! I'm fine. Don't bother about me!"

After saying that, Lillian turned to leave.

He didn't want her anymore, and she didn't need his hypocritical care now.

But Jackson suddenly grabbed her shoulder.

"Lillian! Do you have to talk to me like this? You pushed Wendy into the water, made a mistake, and let others clean up the mess for you. Do you still think you're right?"

"I didn't push her!" Lillian angrily twisted her body.

Jackson's voice was heavy. "Wendy can't swim. Would she jump in herself?"

Lillian felt like her heart was being tightly squeezed, finding it hard to breathe. She didn't want to argue anymore.

She knew he wouldn't believe her.

Exhausted, she said, "Whatever, since you think I maliciously pushed her, you don't need to hypocritically care about me now. Let me go."

She forced herself to hold back her emotions, pushed Jackson away, and walked forward step by step.

Jackson rubbed his temples and then reached out to grab her again.

"Unblock me!" he ordered in a deep voice.

He was tired of worrying all night and not being able to contact her.

Seeing how insistent he was, Lillian didn't want to tangle with him much. She silently took her cell phone out and unblocked his number.

"Can I go now?"

She exuded a rebellious air all over.

Jackson had a headache. He hadn't slept all night, as he was waiting here before dawn. He didn't want to argue with her all the time and lose the patience to comfort her.

He slowly let go of her hand.
