Chapter 555 Star's Confession

Seeing Shirley looking extremely cautious, as if she didn't dare to eat, Lillian took some pasta and fed it to Shirley.

Shirley opened her mouth and ate it. The fresh and fragrant taste spread in her mouth, making her eyes widen in surprise. She quickly picked up a fork and devoured the remaining noodles.

Lillian smiled and also started eating her pasta.

After finishing a bowl of pasta, Shirley wiped her mouth with a napkin and asked contentedly, "I wonder if I'll get to eat this again tomorrow."

Lillian rolled her eyes at her and said, "Are you addicted? Should I not divorce him then?"

Shirley immediately waved her hand. "Marriage and cooking are two different things. Even after the divorce, you can still have him cook for you."

Lillian laughed. "Forget it. I'm afraid he might get twisted and actually poison me."

Shirley shivered, thinking it was indeed possible. Jackson wasn't the type to give selflessly without expecting something in return.

He wasn't a generous person, but a shrewd businessman. Getting up early to make pasta was just a tactic to win Lillian back.

The more he repressed himself, the more likely he was to become twisted.

Lillian was a bit worried that Bob might find the hospital, so after resting for a while, she headed to the hospital.

When she arrived at the hospital entrance and got out of the car, she unexpectedly saw Star getting out of another car.

Star was carrying a thermos. She saw Lillian and, after a moment of hesitation, walked over to her. "My dad is heartbroken over my mom's death. Right after her funeral, he fell ill and has been hospitalized here."

Star looked haggard and pitiful.

Lillian looked at her and said, "Miss Price, there's no need for us to greet each other."

She walked around Star towards the inpatient building, but Star followed her and said, "Lillian, I mean no harm. I just want to tell you that my mom has passed away. My dad is ill, and our family has paid the price for what we've done.

"Jackson told me that the only person he has ever loved is you, and I have come to understand that."

Lillian, growing impatient with Star's persistent presence, stopped and turned to face her with a frown. "What exactly are you trying to say?"

Her tone was edged with irritation.

Star looked frightened, her eyes welling up with tears. "I want to say that I never intended to come between you and Jackson's marriage."

Lillian laughed mockingly.

Star said urgently, "Whether you believe it or not, I really didn't. I admit that I wanted Jackson to marry me before, but that was because I knew you were getting a divorce.

"Now I know Jackson could never love me, and I realize that my feelings for him were just dependency because he saved me, not true love."

Lillian frowned tightly. "You're saying you don't love Jackson?"

Star nodded. "Yes, I've figured it out, and I won't bother you and Jackson anymore. So, if it was because of me that you and Jackson divorced, I sincerely apologize again. Lillian, can you give Jackson another chance? He truly loves you."

Star looked at Lillian with utmost sincerity and pleading.

Lillian felt a sense of discord. Star's attitude had changed too suddenly.

If it weren't for the Price family's relentless pursuit and attempts to destroy her, she might have believed her.

But now, she couldn't believe a word Star said.

Lillian pressed her lips, about to speak, when a figure suddenly rushed out from the inpatient building.

"Stop, don't run!" With the shout, the figure charged towards Lillian and Star.

Standing on the steps in front of the inpatient building, Lillian quickly dodged to the side.

But Star, standing next to her, suddenly stepped forward, blocking Lillian and reaching out to stop the rushing figure.

"Don't come any closer!" she shouted loudly.

The next second, the two collided heavily, and both the person and Star fell to the ground.

The thermos in Star's hand was knocked open, spilling hot soup, and Star screamed in pain.
