Chapter 732

Jackson sighed softly in Lillian's ear, "Rejected me again?"

Lillian's back stiffened against the elevator wall, but the cold texture did nothing to calm her agitated body.

She strained her voice. "Yes, now move away."

Before she could finish her angry words, Jackson's thin lips captured her ear, giving it a gentle bite.

A slight sting, wrapped in a tingling sensation that made her legs weak.

Lillian's eyes blushed with shame and anger as she glared at Jackson, unable to tell if she was more embarrassed or furious.

"Don't look at me with that shy and angry gaze, it makes me want to..." Jackson met her fierce, yet watery gaze that looked like she had been terribly wronged, his Adam's apple bobbing as he spoke hoarsely.

Last night, because of an invitation from her, he had almost stayed up all night working, like a teenager on his first date.

He had barely rested on the couch for a moment and even dreamed of Lillian.

It was a beautiful dream, and he woke up in a mess.

And now, he wanted to do everything to her that he had done in the dream.

Jackson's eyes darkened, not hiding his blatant desire and aggression.

"Shut up!" Lillian's face flushed red as she angrily interrupted him.

She looked like a little cat with its fur standing on end, not fierce at all, but rather cute.

"Okay, I'll shut up." Jackson couldn't help but smiled, making a zipper motion over his mouth as he spoke, "I'm being very obedient now, don't be mad."

The possessiveness and aggression in Jackson's eyes didn't diminish at all, and he even moved closer.

His gentlemanly words were completely at odds with his body's reaction.

"Then back off!" Lillian gritted her teeth, finding him utterly unreasonable.

This was an elevator in a hospital, had Jackson been injected with some strange hormone?

She didn't know what she had done to provoke Jackson, making him react so strangely.

She thought to herself, 'Is it just because I has unblocked him on WhatsApp? Where has his calm and composed demeanor as the CEO of Star Group gone?'

"Is there a reward if I back off?" Jackson was clearly pushing his luck.

Lillian was speechless.

Fortunately, with a ding, the elevator doors opened.

"No!" Lillian almost instantly pushed Jackson away and hurriedly escaped.

Jackson watched her fleeing figure, tugging at his slightly tight tie and adjusting his breath before following her.

When he leisurely walked out of the inpatient building, he indeed saw that Lillian hadn't gone far.

They walked together towards the parking lot, and Lillian turned to look at Jackson. "How's Logan doing since last night?"

Although Lillian had left the hospital early last night, she couldn't stop worrying about Logan.

"Logan had another fever in the middle of the night, but it subsided later. He'll be fine after two days of observation in the hospital," Jackson answered in detail, and Lillian instinctively asked, "Did you stay until morning?"

Considering they had gone to DigitalHealth Hospital near Mystic Meadows last night, and now they were at Frane Hospital, if Jackson had stayed with Logan all night and then came here dressed impeccably, he must not have slept at all.

Jackson looked down at Lillian, his eyes slightly raised. "Are you asking if I spent the night with Star? Are you jealous?"

Lillian was stunned.

She hadn't thought of that at all.

But now that Jackson mentioned it, she felt a bit strange. "You're overthinking it. I was just concerned about Logan."

Jackson raised an eyebrow, not commenting on her denial, and continued, "If you're not jealous, then it means you fully trust that nothing would happen even if I spent the night with Star."

Jackson smiled slightly. "Lillian, do you trust me that much now?"

Lillian thought Jackson wasn't just overthinking; he had learned to comfort himself.

She rolled her eyes at Jackson unceremoniously and said with a fake smile, "Whatever makes you happy."

Jackson looked at Lillian now and found her retorts lively and adorable.

His smile didn't fade as he explained, "I watched Logan's fever subside around 2 AM last night. The nurse said it wasn't a big deal, so I left Terry there and went back to the Peace Mansion for a bit of rest."

Jackson's detailed explanation sounded like he was reporting his schedule to her.

Lillian felt a bit complicated. If Jackson had explained everything to her like this before, maybe they wouldn't have had so many misunderstandings and ended up like this.

Suppressing her melancholy, Lillian interrupted him, "You don't need to tell me all this."

Jackson replied, "Are you going to work? I'll give you a ride."

At this moment, the driver had already brought his car over.

Lillian stopped and shook her head. "I drove myself here, no need for a ride. Since we ran into each other, there's no need to meet again tonight."

She wanted to ask her questions now to avoid meeting again for dinner tonight.

But Jackson seemed to have anticipated what she was going to say. Before the driver could get out to open the door for him, Jackson opened the door himself, got in, and sat down.

The car window slowly lowered, and his clear and cold profile had already returned to its indifferent state. He nodded slightly at her, glanced at his watch, and said, "I have a meeting soon, see you in the afternoon."

Lillian was speechless.

He had just asked if she needed a ride.

But before she could question him, Jackson signaled the driver, who immediately drove away quickly.

In almost an instant, he disappeared from Lillian's sight.

Lillian drove back to the company, where Cecilia and Elena were whispering about something.

Seeing Lillian, they instantly stopped laughing.

Since the unpleasant incident in the break room, they had been intentionally or unintentionally isolating Lillian.

Lillian didn't mind and walked past them.

After she walked by, Cecilia and Elena resumed their lively conversation. Lillian overheard a bit about a new colleague in the finance department next door.

Lillian didn't pay much attention and returned to her desk to continue working on the proposal.

She planned to submit the proposal to Star Group in the afternoon and needed to hurry.

She was busy until almost the end of the workday when the office suddenly became noisy.

Lillian looked up and saw that the new colleague next door was treating everyone to coffee.

Lillian still had some work to finish, so she kept her head down and continued working.

At that moment, a hand placed a cup of hot coffee on Lillian's desk, and a soft voice followed. "I didn't know what flavor you like, so I just got you one. Try it, and if you don't like it, I'll get you another."

Lillian looked up abruptly, her expression changing when she saw the person in front of her. "What are you doing here?"
