Chapter 510 Fading Wish
Lillian snuck into the country with a fake ID, expecting trouble when the cops showed up.
Jackson managed to resolve the issue, leading the police to only ask Lillian a few simple questions before leaving.
Exhausted and scared, Lillian quickly fell into a deep sleep once the police were gone.
She woke up feeling herself being moved.
Opening her eyes, she was surprised to see Jackson carrying her.
"Where are you taking me?" she asked, looking around.
Jackson, seeing she was awake, said, "Back to Miracalia."
Shocked, Lillian grabbed his collar, "You jerk, you said you wouldn't force me!"
She kicked and tightened her grip, looking like she wanted to strangle him.
Jackson's eyes showed helplessness, and he almost gritted his teeth as he spoke.
"I agreed to your condition."
Lillian blinked, "Really?"
She felt a mix of emotions, not quite believing him.
Jackson sneered at her doubtful look, "You don't seem happy. Regretting it?"
Lillian gave a big, sarcastic smile. "I'm thrilled! Just worried someone won't keep his promise."
Jackson saw her relaxed, smiling face and felt heartbroken. If he had a choice, he wouldn't let her go, especially with other men pursuing her, but he was helpless. However, Jackson couldn't push her away further because, with Don still at large, her safety was compromised.
"Don't worry, this time I'll fulfill your wish. Consider it compensation for the wedding."
That disastrous marriage was his fault. Maybe ending it would be a new beginning.
Lillian saw Jackson's determined eyes and knew he meant it. This marriage was really ending.
Her eyelashes fluttered, and she slowly let go of his collar, speaking softly. "After we get off the plane, you'll go with me to State Court?"
"Yes."
Lillian quieted down, letting Jackson carry her into the car.
As the car drove away, she watched the small town fade into the distance, feeling reluctant and nostalgic.
Jackson noticed her expression and felt another pang in his heart. Suddenly, he remembered something.
"Why choose here?" he asked abruptly.
Lillian's eyes flickered, "Country N doesn't have the Frane family's business."
"Liar," Jackson said firmly. "115 days of loving Jackson, Aurora Borealis. Today I read some romantic legends about the aurora, and I want to watch an aurora that belongs to us with my brother. It must be beautiful."
He referred to a wish she'd written in her diary, which once seemed romantic but now was awkward and embarrassing.
