Chapter 834

Lillian yanked her wrist free from Star's grip, causing Star's wrist to slam against the wall. The pain made Star wince, but she barely noticed it. Her mind was consumed by Lillian's words.

"I curse you to be plagued by nightmares every night."

Star struggled to keep it together, barely holding back her tears. Just then, a servant approached carrying Logan, and Jackson gave a subtle nod.

The servant walked over to Star, "Ms. Price, look?"

Logan saw Star and immediately started crying, his little face scrunched up in fear or dislike. Star snapped out of her daze and saw Logan's tear-streaked face, which brought back terrifying memories from the previous night.

"Get away!" Star screamed, waving her hand towards Logan. Before she could touch him, Jackson stepped forward and grabbed her wrist tightly.

"Star, is this how you treat Logan like your own son? Do you think Henry, who got into a car accident looking for you, would be proud?"

Jackson's grip was so strong that Star's tears began to fall. She quickly tried to explain, "I didn't mean to. Last night, this room was really haunted..."

Star wanted to say the room was haunted, but remembering that the ghost was Jackson's son, she stopped herself, fearing Jackson's cold gaze.

She bit her lip and changed her story, "My head injury is severe. I keep seeing hallucinations. I didn't mean to scare Logan."

Star glanced worriedly at Logan. Lillian had already taken Logan from the servant, and Logan clung tightly to her, as if she was the only person he trusted in the world.

"Star, you've scared Logan. You're not welcome here," Lillian said coldly, turning and walking towards the master bedroom with Logan.

Jackson signaled to the bodyguards, who sternly addressed Star, "Ms. Price, please leave."

Star had come to take Logan back, but now she couldn't. She couldn't face Dominic without Logan. She frowned and called out to Lillian's retreating figure, "Lillian, Logan is a Price family child. He's my nephew and has nothing to do with you!"

Seeing Logan, who usually acted annoyed around her, now so dependent on Lillian, made Star even more furious. Ignoring Jackson's sharp gaze, she raised her voice again, "Lillian, you can't take our Price family child just because you lost your own!"

Lillian stopped in her tracks, and Jackson's expression turned tense with worry. Taylor was a deep wound in their hearts, and he feared Lillian would be triggered.

Lillian turned around with a smile, looking at Star, and laughed lightly, "What if I did take him?"

With that, Lillian carried Logan into the bedroom, ignoring Star's outburst. Jackson signaled the bodyguards to drag Star downstairs and out of the Peace Mansion.

Star, dizzy and unsteady, stood up and looked at the mansion with a pale face. A mountain breeze blew, making her sway. Just then, the Price family driver pulled up.

Star got into the car, and the driver asked, "Ms. Price, where's Logan?"

Star closed her eyes, her expression dark and angry, "Just drive! Let that annoying crybaby stay here."

The driver, seeing Star's displeasure, didn't ask further and drove off. Star, exhausted from the previous night, soon fell into a restless sleep.

Suddenly, the car screeched to a halt on the mountain road. Star was thrown forward, hitting her head on the seat in front of her. Blood from her wound soaked the bandage and trickled down her face.

Clutching her head, she yelled, "Are you trying to kill us? How do you drive, you idiot!"

The driver, trembling, replied, "Ms. Price, someone rolled down the hill and blocked the road. I need to check."

The driver, pale, got out to investigate. Star frowned and looked outside, seeing a man covered in blood lying motionless on the road.

Seeing blood made Star nauseous. She stumbled out of the car and vomited bile by the roadside before turning back.

"Ms. Price, he seems to be alive," the driver said, lifting the bloody man. Star recognized him as the photographer she had hired the previous night. Fear gripped her, and she backed away, hitting the car.

"Get him in the car," she ordered, her voice trembling.

The driver struggled to drag the man, leaving a trail of blood. Star leaned against the car, feeling faint. Jackson was ruthless, and she feared she might face the same fate one day.

No, that wouldn't happen. They had a history together.

Back at the Peace Mansion, Lillian placed Logan on the couch and handed him a wooden toy from the cabinet. Logan quickly stopped crying and started smiling again, his face still wet with tears.

"Are you hungry? Let's go eat," Jackson said, bending down to pick up Logan. But Lillian raised her hand, stopping him.

Jackson looked at her in surprise, "Lillian, what did I do wrong? Why are you hitting me?"

Lillian rolled her eyes, "You scared Logan on purpose by calling Star."

She turned to Logan, "Logan, we're not talking to him, right?"

Logan seemed to understand and turned his head away from Jackson, showing him the back of his head.

Jackson was speechless. He hadn't meant to scare Logan; he wanted Logan to scare Star. Logan crying was just because he was too timid.

"He's a boy. He needs to build courage from a young age," Jackson said, but Lillian found his words oddly familiar.
